I can't decide between getting 2 steel 48ci tanks or one good fiber-wrapped 68 or 88ci tank. Either option would cost about the same amount of money, but my thought on getting the 2 tanks is that they are smaller so I can move better with them, and that I can use one tank untill it's completely empty, then refil it all the way. If I only have one tank, and I'm going to shoot say about 300-400 balls, then even if my tank is half full, I'd still have to pay for a fill up so I wouldn't run out. I have two CO2 tanks now, and being able to use one untill it's completely empty is nice. I'm looking for a cheap entry into the nitro world(I might get a cocker within the next year), so I can play in the winter(I live in vermont). Any feed back on the pro's and cons of small steal tanks or big fier tanks would be appreciated. Oh, pure energy has a 48ci steel tank for $70, thats what I'm looking at.

Ok heres the deal steel tanks suck!!!!! Definatly get the fiber wraped tank. Not only do steel wraped tanks not get near as many shots but they are 2 maby 3 times heavier. it is definitly worth getting the fiber wraped tank. Steel tanks also are not as good of quality so there are no garuntees that they will fill as high. If you are looking to spend alittle more get a 68ci 4500 psi tank they are not much bigger than a steel tank and when filled fully will get almos 4 times the shots.

hope that helped

just get the 68
its better to get that one cuz it will last you all day (unless you gas hog) and plus they dont fill up nitro tanks all the way up (for safety, unless you get a good fill, which is rare)
anyways, the 68 will be a better choice and is lighter than a 20 oz tank so its just better to get that in my opinion

well, you guys are telling me to just get a 68ci because it would hold more. But I'm telling you that I can get 2 48ci for the price of 1 68ci, so how would that hold more air? Also I don't quite understand how steel tanks can't hold as much? are they afraid they are going to blow up so they only fill them to like 2600psi instead? Last thing is I can't find info on how many shots to expect from a given sized tank anywhere on the net? right now I'm still going for 2 48ci steel tanks because they are $70 each, and if I have 2 I can used them untill they are empty and don't have to refill them even though they are only 1/2 full so I don't have to worry about running out when I play renegade.

The 47 ci tanks dont hold much air at all and they are pieces of crap so dont even bother with them. Just get a 68 or 88 ci tank.

ScatAttack, steel tanks are crap. They don't need to get hydro-ed as often and are more rugged.
Andrew, look into tuffskin tanks by nitroduck. worth the price. Don't really need a 88ci. get a 68/3k or 68/45 if you want.

the material that the tank is made out of has no impact on performance except for weight. its not the tank tank that performs its the regulator. but if i were in your shoes i would definately get a nice 68ci which you will get about 700 shots off of. or if u want more go for an 88 (i wouldnt because its kinda bulky, but i f uwant the extra air) u can get close to 900shots off of it.

so VeNoM, if you could have 2 48ci tanks or 1 68ci tank (both steel) for the same price, you would get the one 68ci tank? Is that what I'm hearing?

sorry about any confusion, the above posts made by pbgeek2000 are actually mine. A friend came over to my house and used his name, and now it's the default for some reason, it only reconizes me as pbgeek2000 and I can't even get my own mail. If anyone knows how I can set it back plz let me know.

I would get a 88ci tank. Most steel tank have crappo regs. Do yourself a favor and a bigger, better, lighter tank.

if the tank is 4500 multiply ci by 15 to get shot number, is its 3000 multiply the ci by 10.

i would get 68. thats i what i am getting probably

i would go for a 68/4500 why bother getting two little ones, youll run out in the middle of a game and have to go off and put a new tank on, unless you carry it with you(seems kinda dumb). plus to keep filling the little ones will cost you twice as much teo fill one 68 or 88 right? (if it costs $5 a tank two little ones will cost $10 and one bigger one will cost $5).IMO i think that is the better way.

steel gets too hot when you just fill them up. get a fiberwrapped 68 or 88 4500.
