hey im cleaning my gun and i have my hammer out. Directions say to not apply grease to the hammer itself. The actual hammer is the brass part right? so i dont put any grease on that area at all?

Thanks

ok i figured out the hammer thing, now im confused on the valve. i unscrewed the valve cap and the only thing that comes out is the spring. is that what im supposed to lube????

To get to the valve and valve stem after you've taken off the valve cap and spring, you have to take off your grip frame and you will see a set screw on the underside of the marker body. Once that screw is out, carefully insert a long object [I use a chopstick :) ] and place it in the rear of the body and the valve stem will come out of the front.

You don't really need to lube the valve body but once or twice a year. If you do happen to take it out, don't put it back through the front or you'll rip the o-rings up.

Back to the valve stem... Once you get that out, wipe it off clean and lube just the small o-ring on it.

dont screw it in too far...just until it is about even with the body...atleast that is what i do.

It won't swell. At least not with Dow grease.

My Nasty came shipped from pbw with Dow 33 on my freak delrin bolt.
It took about a week and a half to ship it to Japan.
I called pbw about 3 weeks later to inquire about the delrin/grease issue and they said a light coat of Dow will not do any harm.
So to conclude, my marker sat for a month + with lube all over the delrin internals and they did not swell or anything like such.

same with me...they coated my voodo bolt with lube...as soon as i got it i just wiped it off.....it didnt swell or anything.

I am kinda worried about my impy....I had my reg set at 180 so i just gassed up my gun slowly...expected it to stop at like 200( was dumb) like it always did the past month but this time it kept going up..I was like ohh gosh and i de gassed it. it probobly hit 230 maybe 220. then i turned my reg down...gassed it up and rose the pressure till it was about 140psi..shot it a few times...next thing u know the pressure was rising clear over 180psi. so i called smartparts they sayed to clean and lube my reg...so i did that and havent had a problem. Now i run my gun at about 160psi so i can tell if my reg got unajusted.....I realy realy hope I didnt damage my solinoid when it got up to 230psi but i dry fired it a little in the house(out of paintballs) and it seemed fine...but i wont know until i get out of the field.

The PRV is set to vent at 240 so no, you most likely didnt ruin your solenoid.

Do you guys apply dow directly to the hammer shaft? I was told not to do it because it may help cause FSDO...

I used to to a very, very light coat of dow on the shaft. Then work the ram back and forth a bunch of times, wipe the shaft/bumper/hammer/face of ram back down and you're done.

The orings that touch the shaft do need to be lubed, and putting it on the shaft is the easiest way. Just wipe it back down after you cycle it a bunch of times.
