Hey guys,
I decided that since I will be playing front on my team that a cocker isn't the best choice. I'm going with an Impulse. I am going to get a basic black with vertical reg. Is there anything too Impulses? I mean, are they east to maintain, or are they very complex? Please don't yell at me to read the FAQ. I tried and for some reason the connection keeps timing out.
Thank You Impulse Owners

Easier than a cocker. They also have many upgrades, but are good out of the box.

Really? I was wondering how that combination would work out, thanks. I think my VL's impeller is stripped.

Watch out for variations of FSDO. If you can avoid FSDO or get it so it only happens after a LONG time your good. If you end up like Richey then go home and cry.

you might want to consider getting the vert reg Impulse with a blade (adjustable) trigger and tape worm as a "package" It will save you a little $$ and you will have a gun you can pull out of the box and play in a turny with.
The Impulse with a vertial reg, tapeworm, and blade trigger is about $480 package

I beg to differ. :)
Xboard rev IS NOT enough, unless you have super slow trigger fingers.
And halo, bah!

what do you suggest then-
no HALO
no Rev
third option?

legend you clearly missed my vortex impeller statement. and btw, its plenty for me. i can hear my gun chirp at me ALOT. and i never chop. i just sit tehre
chirp
chirp
thats 13 bps fokes
never had a problem with it, even while walking it as fast as i could over the chrony for a long time.

I use a rev, and thats all I will ever use.
I'm just saying get vision, it will make any loader seem fast.
And I didnt miss your impeller statement, new paddles do hardly anything the stock 4 prong can't, they just make it jam on advantage paint (which is the worst paint in the world, I've concluded).

Dont listen to legend, he doesnt count. He has robotic fingers in place of human ones and they are far faster than the average man's :D
So far, with a 12 volt rev without xboard and without the vortex impellor, i havent chopped. Im not super fast, but fast enough to get the job done.
And the new vision boards are no good. You might wanna wait until smart parts does something about them, if they even do. Which they really really need to.

Pardon my n00bness but what is FSDO? And where can i find the vert pkg. with blade and tapeworm for 480? You mean I should just buy them all at once right? and the blade is sweet i was gonna buy it eventually. and i was also planning on buying a Ricochet hopper because I live in AZ where they're located and they might sponsor us. what do you think?

STOP MAKING FUN OF ME!!!!!
*runs to bedroom, slams the door and buries face in pillow to muffle the crying*
I can shoot fast at the chrono, but for some reason i can never do it on the field. I think i hold the gun in a different position when i want to shoot fast, and that just messes me up.
A guy who owns a tricked out emag /w warpfeed at our field tested out my RAT, shot as fast as he could and didnt chop. And he didnt get faster than i did.
Some other guy who currently owns an RT, emag, tricked out cocker, and is seriously considering a matrix ;) tried mine out, didnt chop.
Maybe what is considered fast here in south carolina, is considered "you have old wrinkly arthritis fingers" where you live legend, lol seriously.

I have a weird way of shooting. I "walk" my matrix with just the tips of my fingers, most people use the 2nd knuckle. I get the thing to RIP though, one of the guys that manages the field when the owner is gone claims I must play the piano to make my fingers go that fast.
One day I'm gonna slap on a *working* halo or warpfeed just to watch paint actually come out that fast. :)

i'll try again...what does the tapeworm do? what does VFF stand for? and is it worth it to buy a new bolt right off the bat?

Read the faq, it's there for a reason.

Just because I'm so nice...
A tapeworm essentially "steals" air away from the valve to feed the solenoid. At high rates of fire the valve "steals" air from the solenoid, creating a suction, forcing your bolt to stick forward. (Bolt stick)
With a tapeworm is makes sure the solenoid has a good air supply all the time.
Vff, or Vertical Full Flow, does the same thing a tapeworm does, only better. Its installed as a vertical adapter, and gives the solenoid its own air right off the bat, instead of stealing it from the valve chamber. It doesnt work on the newer bodies, however.
And yes, a delrin bolt is a very good upgrade.

an LPR works as good as the VFF (and in the same manner) and works with the newer bodies... its the way to go for someone really into paintball... like me!:D
boy, i am good!;)
