I would go with the Xtra. But don't listen to me, see what other people have to say. They're both great guns, but the Xtra has a verticall feed, and its cheaper (I think) then the TL plus.

I've got 'em both and they're both good but the Extra has been really good to me so far.

well if u plan to upgrade alot extra definentaly its a better gun, if you aren't gonna do anything then get tl plus, but extra is a better overall

Why would you get a TL+ if you didnt plan on upgrading at all? by looking at the features of both guns i would gather that the TL could use more upgrades than the xtra. but im pretty set on getting the xtra anyway because i hear its pretty decent right out of the box and i dont have the cash to start upgrading right away.

yes, the xtra is a VERY good gun right out of the box. the barrel is very accurate stock, the grips are the best stock grips ever, everything is very good stock

ok i have a dumb and irrelevant question but since you guys seem willing to help even the dumbest newbies i am going to ask anyways. on the TL+ below what is that thing around where the barrel screws in? the xtra doesn't have one and it makes the TL look pretty cool. alot of the other spyders have one too. im not basing my decision on it but i was just curious. thanks.

i just looked it up at the kingman website and it looks like i could add it to an xtra if i wanted to. would i? would a shroud benefit me at all? its not very expensive so if it were even just for the sake of looks it wouldnt be a big deal.
i have the tl plus and let me tell you it ain't all that. it's a nice marker but you will want to get a new barrel for one, and two you need a better hopper(revy). you'll find that it fires quite fast and the gravity won't feed fast enough to keep up with your trigger pull(depending on your shooting style).
if it breaks a ball, you can forget about staying in the game, it has the quick release feature which is nice but when that bolt gets stuck...it's stuck. because of its rear cocking feature, you have to remove the barrel and push the bolt back with something strong and long(don't be preverted)and then you'll be back in action.
i don't know about the xtra but if it has the same rear cocking feature i would look for something with a side cock. if a ball breaks and you have a side cocking gun, you can bang the knob against a rock or a tree and it will free up the bolt without having to take your gun apart.
i wouldn't suggest anyboby to do this all the time but in the middle of a battle, you don't have much of a choice.
trying to get it unjammed with the rear cocker is nearly impossible without having to shove something down the barrel.
the shroud helps line up the treads while your screwing in the barrel, as well as provides strength in case you bang the barrel against a tree or something of that nature. it doesn't make that much of a difference other than it makes the gun look more bulky. i think it's a bout 7 bucks, you don't need it but what's 7 bucks.
if you're interested still inpurchasing the tl let me know,
i've hardly used it because i play with pistols now and
i would be more than happy to sell it you at a reasonable price, everything is stock other than a simple trigger job.
email me and we can work out details
