I need suggestions on a back up/ loaner gun for under $150 [Archive]

I lookin for suggestions on a Back Up gun(I don't me secondary weapon) / loaner gun. I lookin for a gun I could use If there is something wrong with my e-99. Also a gun I could loan to a friend and could play in the rain with. If you could suggest a good gun and a package(if possible) for under$150 that would be great.

My Current Setup: e-99, 14"SP All American barrel, and a 12v revy with X-board

you could get a M3 Compact. They are supposed to be pretty good and for less than $100 it sounds like a really good deal.

I mean, you don't want to give your friend a cheap wal mart marker now do you?

tippman 98's are really cheap at pbgear.com. They're almost as durable as mags and should last almost forever.

I can't believe I forgot about Tippmanns. You can get a brand new 98 Custom package off eBay for like $150. It comes with tank, mask, tools, markers, hopper, etc. Really good deal. I would buy that.

Go for a tippmann 98 Custom. You can't break those guns unless you try too. It don't matter what kinda air system you put on it, it will use Nitro, Syhpon, Anti-Syhpon tanks with no problem. Also tippies will play in any weather. You can go to paintballgateway and get the gun for $117, 20oz CO2 for $20 and Loader for $5. Theres a total pakage on that site that has the Gun, 12oz CO2, Mask, Squigee, Pods, Pod Holder, and hopper.

Theres no need, at least on mine for a motorized hopper because theres a bit of blowback and it goes up into the hopper irritating the paint and then it falls into your gun, Quite neat really. If you Fan the trigger and your low on paint, you may have to shake your gun once or twice.

Well, I know for a fact that a 98 Custom will almost never brake accedentally, unless you do something to it or run over it with a steam roller. (dramatized) But you see my point. They ARE the toughest markers on the market today. I really don't know alot about the Xtras. I know that the field I play at rents them and they don't seem to have many problems often. I do think the tippys are tougher. So baisicly, its your prefference. Not so much help was I?

i would go with a torndao, it's on teh review part of this site. It's all steel and they shoot great. Some one at my field has one, it's pretty aswome for a blow back only 50 bucks, if you look at the review the list some web sites that have them.

yeah...tippmanns are definetely the way to go. thats what i let people borrow. they are virtually indestructable. even if somehow you do screw it up, usually the problem is easy enough to fix.

check out my sig, i have some for sale if you are looking for used. ive got a few tipps, some co2, and a mask. otherwise try countypaintball.com, they usually have good prices and the customer service is unbeatable (plus the peanuts they ship with are cool...dissolve in water, its loads of fun)

you guys can ignore me all you want but when me and my team kick your *** with our slingy's you'll be regretting buying that 98. I have one and ever since I got my sling shot for $10, I've been trying to sell my custom.

You know what punk, I am real glad I bought me a tippy for my first gun. That gun gets you to develop alot of important skills sence they are the way they are... Like moving. When someone who gets a new High end gun whos previously owned a tippy you see how well they really preform if they were good with the tippy, trust me. There Demons to play aginst...

your just inforcing what I'm saying. I owned a 98 before I got my slingy and me and my crew kick *** with them(slingy's). I was in the mountains of Qatar trippin on acid, changed my whole perspective on ****. (just thought i should mention it)

You need to tell me something, why are you even trying to play pball with a damn sling shot anyway? You couldn't make it past the break. Then again if you can make it onto the field without being laughed off first. You've never played any real paintball have you? Seriously, Your joking right? Yea its all cool, I was really wondering if you accualy did use slingshots. If you did then I was gonna say you must have been playing aginst some real newbs or blind people. lol Me and my neighbor were gonna take some old brass eagle, not worthy to be called paintballs and use slightshots so we could use them up but not was air and break them in our guns... We just ain't done it yet... I told him not to buy that paint anyway.
