View Full Version : Cheapest way to somewhat LP
I just got my BD Sniper and played with it this weekend. Love the marker. Previously used a Spyder Shutter.
When I got the Sniper from the factory it was running about 550 PSI at the reg and with the velocity adjuster all the way in could only hit 240ish FPS. I had to turn the regulator up to about 1000psi to hit 290-300fps.
Anyways, that's fine for the 100 degree florida july weather, but when it starts getting cooler I know my fps will drop off because of how Co2 dynamics work with temp.
So the question after all that rambling: what's the cheapest way to get somewhat LP so I won't have to worry about my FPS dropping off too far when it gets down to the 40-50 degree range.
I saw a place offering a full LP kit for 250 bucks. That sounds a little ridiculous considering the marker was only 220. Any other suggestions? Shouldn't be too hard since most of the parts are Syder compat. I'd think.

your turned it up 1000psi? I think you meant 100 psi lol. well anyways to go lp you would need to:
-modify the stock bolt(take venturi our for better air flow) or get a delrin bolt-free/$35
-since you have co2 a new reg (palmers stabilizer) $90
-Macroline kit -$10
-Drill the vertical adapter for a bigger hole -free
-modify the vavle of just get a new valve Kit (magna port valve)-free/$22
-Polish the internals (helps a bit)- free
-and a spring kit(32 degrees or maddmann)- $9
total: expensive way: $166 (shipping not inculded)
not as expensive way: $109(shipping not inculded)
The pamers stabilizer(any good regulator) is a very important part for lp if you dont feel like spending to much money do the home mods and get the reg and spring kit and macroline kit. You should have a pretty decent lp setup.
*please correct me if there is any wrong information
hummm 550 psi plus 100 psi would = 650 psi
I turned it to a total of 1000 psi give or take. Not sure what didn't sound right about that?
But thanks for the tips on going LP.

Fen, I also had to turn mine up to around 1000 psi, and that really isn't good, I sent my gun into M3 for some other corrections they had to make on it...when I get it back I'm going LP on it, what JackPB said is perfect, if you want more details www.ottersccustoms.com has the instructions for going LP on a spyder (the same if you are using a BD), N2 would also help in your setup but not required.

You might want to try a spring pack for spyders and put in a stronger main spring. You will be able to turn down your pressure and get the correct velocity. Hope it works out.

I think a stiffer main spring would be a good way to go also.

No no no...a stronger main spring will eat up your efficiency, you would like to get a light main spring...even if you don't get the lowest PSI number, you want a stock or less main spring, that means changing the valve spring to a light spring too. Otherwise it will kill your efficiency.

I'm not talkin' about going lp though, i was saying if you want a higher FPS you need a stronger main spring.

Ok, I got a gun back from M3, wasn't mine, it was a brand new one :) Great tech support there, but anyways, I'm waiting on my tank, I need to order a new spring kit (I've got chameleon but no valve springs in that kit) then I'm going to start going LP on the thing.

Cheapest way to go lp
turbo valve
32* spring kit
1. Put a soft valve spring in to replace the stock one
2. Install the turbo valve and modifiy the valve pin
3. Drill out the v/a to 3/16 (helps ALOT)
4. remove venturi
5. polish internals, specifically striker/bolt, I do not believe polishing the inside of the body helps much after all that is what the lubricant is for.

alot of Black Draguns were shipped cocked, thats the reason why you are all getting low FPS numbers, get a new spring kit... LP isn't the answer for everything. If you're not using your marker always leave it uncocked and take the spring out when you are storing it away
