How do i lighten the trigger on my shutter without buying a new trigger assembly?

well i dont know about spyders, but i heard something about if you sand down something it really helps your trigger pull, but dont just go taking sandpaper to the sear. maybe kingman knows something.

lighten the trigger action ?

I'm not sure in what respect you mean but i did post a few links to trigger mods for spyder (and replica guns, rebel's, piranha's, etc..)

i have done numerous mods to triggers, are you looking to shorten the trigger pull, or lighten it weight wise ?

i can help you shorten it for sure, but lightening it i don't recomend since it will modify the trigger return spring. and might cause it to not function correctly..

if your interested in this mod, reply to me here, i'll get am e-mail for it.. and i'll post the links, and my other mods on top of those. and you can really have some fun with a stock trigger on a spyder, you'll be seeing a GOOD 8-10bps with it modified!!!!

i've actually done extensive work to my Spyder TL Plus trigger grip frame, and now it's pull is light and less than 1/4 inch of a pull. I beveled and polished my sear and striker, and shortened the pull and return. If you email me, i can tell you how to do it all.

here is the ONE mod i have done, and seen no one else do so far.. on some models of spyders, there is a trigger that has a "floating" contact for the sear pin.. if you have that floating pin, FILL IN THE PIT it rides in, with epoxy, hot glue (doesn't hold long, few games/weeks) or solder. ( i suggest the solder..) and it will make the contact block so it doesn't float.. or you can replace the trigger with a solid one piece..

TLplus84

floating contact? can you elaborate a little more? cuz i might wanna do this on my TL Plus if it has onenow.

I'm unaware of how to elaborate for you, if you hammer out the pin, and slide your trigger out, you will see 1 of 2 triggers.. either a completely solid one, or a multi-piece trigger.. if it is the multi piece. there is a PRING loaded back piece on the trigger that contacts the sear pin..

if you fill in it's area that it tucks into, with something, it is no longer allowed to tuck in, and avoid contacting the sear.. hehe hence, a CLOSER contact to the sear pin.. hehe faster firing rate, shorter pull etc...

Crisis, when u get the links and stuff can u send me an email too with it. I want to fix up my trigger pul on my shutter, maki it shorter and lighter. I already tried something, with a trigger block, but it didnt make much of a difference. If u can , email the stuff to me at KLRUSTER@AOL.COM

oh...just put a drop of epoxy on the top of the trigger, that tab that covers the trigger spring. It has the same effect. That's what i did to mine.

OKay all, since i have gotten SO MUCH back on the spyder trigger mods.. here goes... 2 of them i can NOT and WILL not take credit on. I did not do them first, nor did i invent it.... so booo hooo

Okay on the trigger mods, i will give you 2 links that
have photos that show what to do. then i will give you ONE more mod.. that works good..

http://www.angelfire.com/co/wakeworld/trigger1.html

http://www.angelfire.com/co/wakeworld/stj2.html

And the third mod (if your gun has this feature, when you do trigger mod #1,
when you pull the trigger loose, there will be a piece that contacts the
sear pin, that piece might be solid (if so no mod needed) if it is a
seperate spring loaded piece, fill in that gap with some HARD liquid that
will dry solid.. ie: epoxy, hot glue, solder.. any thing that will dry
hard... and whalla UNO trigger mod.. i have mine moded in this manner,
and i'm capable of 10-12 bps with a stock trigger..

I opened up my Spyder trigger in the early days of my newbiedom, looked around for maybe a minute then said "wtf?" and close up the trigger never to be looked at again. Nice mods though Crisis, nice to see easy ways for people to take their guns performance up a few notches

Try using the spring from an old remote control for your trigger spring it worked for me. If it doesn't work no harm done to the original:).

Man the best part of this mod.. is SOOOO many guns operate on the basis of this trigger design... Sheridans, BE's, Tippmans, Kingmans, it's a very very basic NON COPYRIGHTED trigger mechanism, so everyone is using it mearly for it's simplicity. and easy us redoing it to being WAY better then it is..

I myself, including tonight. looking in my tally book, with pictures (gotta scan em..) with the gun i just did tonight.. i've done 23 Spyder trigger mods. and about 10 or more Sheridan XTS series mods, and about 10 Stingray II mods.

I'm getting into this whole trigger mod thing.. I've developed a belief.. with ANYGUN, a proper trigger, and a well trained finger. you can get anything "sweet spoted" and be able to light anything/one up

and thanx elTwitcho

i was working on it a few nights ok, and me being the smrtest person, i broke it in half, so im gonna start totally over ot make the best trigger job ne ways. If u get the time tlplus, could u make a directions sheet for what u did to ur trigger, so i can do it to mine? i would really appreciate it, but if not, dont worry about it ( jsut so u know, im not too great on all the trigger terms, so basic words and stuff would work good in your describtion, if u can make one) Thanks

i'm telling you now that you shouldn't expect to shoot like crazy as soon as you finish. I've put hours of work fine tuning it, and even now i'm still working on how to reduce pull...but i'll tell you what i've done so far

Crisis
02-03-2001, 09:01 AM
there are numerous ways to reduce trigger pull, i've even seen a few people make custom aluminum triggers with fancy setups that will allow you to only move 1/8" or less, i also saw that trigger stop mod... interesting.... i haven't gone that far yet!

TLplus84
02-03-2001, 10:38 AM
i'll post up the directions asap.

Pimp2fine
02-03-2001, 06:29 PM

one day i was pushin in the safety and i pished it out! i didnt mean to but i noticed it lightened the trigger pull tremendously.but dont go poppin safetys out;)

Crisis
02-03-2001, 09:39 PM
Uhmmm.. i've taken the trigger frame completly apart. and as far as poping the saftey out having anything to do with shortening trigger pull or lightening it's force.. I'm sorry to say, you are on crack. it is physically impossible for it to do that. all the saftey is on a spyder grip frame is a sculpted pin that blocks the trigger.

bowman57
02-04-2001, 07:35 AM
nooooo....pushin the safety out loosened that spring behind the trigger and made the trigger pull lighter.

TLplus84
02-04-2001, 09:37 AM
sorry..but the trigger spring has nothing to do with the safety..

bowman57
02-04-2001, 09:41 AM
well i dont know what it was....but my trigger pull is lighte than it was before i took the safety out.
