My gun is very loud. Is this from the barrel, from the co2, or from internal stock parts? Im asking cause I really want to play as a sniper.

an aftermarket barrel helps reduce some noise level.. i got a smartparts all american barrel and it works great for reducing noise and the accuracy is alot better than the stock

Your stock barrel is the main problem with noise. If you get a barrel with alot of porting, i.e. the Smart Parts All American, then you will make your gun ALOT quieter, but you lose efficiency. That is not good for low pressure, but that is another thread i think. The best barrel to get is the Dye Boomstick. I'm sure many others will agree with me. The boomstick is VERY quiet and very accurate. ALso, unlike other barrels that are not very efficient, the boomstick is efficient.

The boostick will make ur spyder a lot quieter, i have one, and it really helps. U can also get an aftermarket bolt, which helpsa little. Two other thinks u can do that i did to help my spyder get quieter was buy a tank cover, which keeps the tank form being an amplifier and being really loud, and u can pad up ur striker and fill up ur trigger frame with soemthing, i used tisue paper, and that keeps sound from emitting and vibrating in the gun/ Do all this and ur sypder will be a lot quieter

The best way to make your gun quieter is to run low pressure. Spyder is very high pressure, so he's very loud. Buy a new valve, regulator, spring kit, polish internals and you will be able to turn low pressure. Also change your barrel and you suddenly have a silent and pretty accurate and regular gun.

Or, since being loud isnt that big a deal, buy a lapco bigshot, it's cheap, and it makes your gun sound like a cannon. A loud gun isnt really that big a problem, you should work on finding a god barrel with good paint match before you start looking for a quiet one

Twitcho, some people say ur replies are great, but I dare to disagree. According to my original post "...because I want to snipe" loudness is definitely an issue. So, why would u suggest a barrel that makes the noise of a cannon? I dont see where the logic is in that reply.

The spyder is already amazing accurate for stock in the first place, it's not as loud as others. but yes going LP on it would make it alot quieter.

I dont' know if this would interest you...

The barrel extension is about 10" long.. So, match that with 14 " boomstick. you can use it as a cane...

I was just messin around bro. And if anyone says that my half thought out poorly spelt ramblings are great, this is the first I've heard of it :) But what I was getting at, is that loudness doesnt matter a whole lot. Even with a quiet gun they'll still hear the shot. The idea is to remain unseen and take out everyone before they figure out where you're coming from. If you have some notion about 50 people walking in front of you, and you emptying on them while they can only hear paint splattering, it wont happen. There is no "snipers" in paintball, only guys who are great at camoflauge and setting ambushes, and taking the other players out before they can react. And if you really want to make your gun more quiet, go with making your gun low pressure, no matter what barrel you put on a Spyder or an M98, if you're still running at high pressure, it'll sound like flak cannon no matter what

ElTwitcho is 100% correct. sometimes you never hear the shooter. only the ball whizing by you.. seeing the direction of the ball coming at you is a whole different item. loudness is only an intimidation factor ?
