I have a shutter that I just switched over to N2 and all of a sudden I can no long shoot at low pressure...I have to have my regulator set at 850 before the stricker hooks the sear...but with co2...I can still shoot and recock with no "full auto" from the stricker not catching...(can shoot down to about 400 psi with co2...with no recocking problems).
So here is my question...does anyone know if the shutter regulator is a co2 only reg..and if so so...not work with the N2.....or am I doing something wrong.
could it be that the recycle rate of the stock reg is to slow?...
Any thought?

I should add...I have it running great on co2..running low pressue(450psi)..no problem...but I screw on the N2..and nothing but problems...

im not sure what the problem is.. but when i use N2 on my shutter the lowest i can go is 600psi...

well...I am getting so fustrated...can't figure out what the deal is...I bet it's just a POS regulator...which doesn't work with N2....which will suck...I asked kingman if it is a co2 only reg because I wanted to use N2 ....they said to just set it at 800 which is not the answer......and he never did tell me if the reg is a co2 only reg....bet it is...
I also asked them about the Dual Function System (DFS)....which when I got the shutter was under the impression that that ment it is ready to work on co2 or N2....WELL.....he explained to me that the Dual Function System (DFS)..means...that the gun is set up so you can use the bottom line.....or take it and the expansion chamber and use a vertical bottle....
Which only raised more questions about the use of N2 on the shutter...
sorry had to rant...

.or take it and the expansion chamber and use a
vertical bottle....
should have read...."or take the bottom line and reg off along with the expansion chamber ....and use the bottle vertical...

i remember reading somewhere that ppl were drilling bigger holes(in vert adapter).. because the small hole was restricting airflow... lemme try to find that site

thanks blindman,..I was also reading that the micro lines should be changed to macro for more volume...but I think I will try to enlarge the holes first...and see if that helps...hope it doesn't screw up the marker for co2..if it doesn't work..

Hey blindman....I drilled out my ASA and polished the holes last night....and checked out the old shutter today...And it worked prefectly....and it is NOW shooting...(and Re-cocking) at as low as 250 psi!!!(I can't believe it myself)....with velo. at or around 260 fps....(have to get it on a crono yet)...but as it stands now...it is working great...thanks for the help...

You might want to get rid of that reg on the shutter since it is soley reccomended for Co2 (all spyders are designed for Co2, and if you want to use N2 or HPA on it with the best performance, you might want to think about dual regulating it) and not for HPA or N2 :( sorry bro, if yuo want to run HPA without a problem, that reg just won't cut it.

thanks...gen x2 is on the list already..might order it to night along with some macro line....that ought to do it....what do you think?....

how big of a hole did u make??

I was told to drill them out with a 3/16 inch drill bit...but to be on the safe side I used a 11/32...but you must be careful when you drill the hole from the LPC side trough to the valve chamber side as not to cut into the hole for the screw that holds the ASA onto the marker...thats why I went with a slightly smaller one...I just can't understand why Kingman doesn't just make them bigger to start with...

I took 600 grit wet dry paper....cut it into strips...then I slid it into the holes I drilled and pulled it back and forth...until I had it smooth and shinny....and to removed all the burs....then I washed it really well...and put the o-rings back on..and oiled it up...just be careful if your ASA is ano-ed...so you don't scratch it...I used a drill press and a clamp to drill it out to make sure I drilled them straight...(with the ASA wrapped in a rubber lid gripper for protection so the clamp didn't scratch it).
