PRO:
You can program it up to 20 balls per second
CON:
There is NO loader that can drop 20 balls per second
even a halo w\ warp feed wouldn't\couldn't cut it! :((

don't get the E-2, get the sniper. They are both the exact same price, and all the E-2 is , is a stripped down sniper. Trust me a M3 Representative talked me out of buying a E-2 lol.

The only con I can think of is that it doesn't take stickeys. But yeah get the sniper model.

just get the basic and pimp it out with the extra 100$ your gonna have left over. trust me you wont regret it. all those stupid firing modes are useless, and the sniper/LCD are NOT tournament legal

I can't find the sniper for any cheaper than 190 but the E2 is as cheap as 150 how is the E2 a "Stripped Down" Sniper?
Surreal

you can get the basic for 130. the cheapest dragun prices are here: www.paintballgateway.com

Thanks Surreal for all the advice, but i am wondering why are the LCD and Sniper not Torney legal??
Surreal

because they have firing modes that you can change from the outside of the grip, and there is no lock. if your in the middle of a game, you can just flip over into full auto mode on the grip frame without anyone knowing. thats why its not tourney legal

if i were you.. i'd get the black dragun basic because the e2 isnt even tourn legal. also, it's a bit more inexpensive leaving you with $ to buy some more upgrades/gear/paint
the down part about the basic is the plastic trigger setup but this doesn't affect any of the performance at all.. and besides, who really notices that it's plastic when you're wearing gloves anyway?
if you're really picky about it.. you can always just replace the setup for a few $
i won a basic in a tourn about a month ago and i was a bit surprised by how well it performed

If you shop around, you can find the PI-E2 for $150.
The cheapest I can find the BD Basic for is $125.
That's $25 more for a LCD, better trigger and grip, better barrell, not to mention, it looks a hell of a lot better than the basic!
People keep saying to save money on the basic and upgrade, well what are you going to get for $25?
Look, bottom line, I have an EM-1 and the Pi-E2 may not be as accurate, but fires faster and gives me much less headaches!

first of all.. the cheapest you can really find the e2 bd is for $178.. you can find the basic easy for about $125
why would you pay about $50 more for a different STOCK barrel.. when you're going to be changing it anyway?
the lcd isn't really worthwhile on an e2.. if you get a basic.. the switches are in the back of the gun which make it easy to switch if you want to
also.. the e2 can fire upto 20bps which might prevent you to getting onto some fields
you might want to reconsider and get the basic and just slap on a new barrel..
and about looks.. there isn't too much of a real difference.. most of the looks are in teh raised sight rail (that no one uses) and the barrel color.. other than that the rest of the paint job isn't much of a diff..
if you stick a diff barrel on your gun such as the teardrop then there you go.. you almost have a look alike of the lcd :P
if you want to setup a nice basic heres what i suggest:
m3 black dragun basic
12" tear drop or cp 1 piece (the stock actually isn't that bad)
12v rev w/ x-board (if you can fire that fast or plan on using auto; if you're new you can prob stick with the freebie 200 viewloader for a while)
nitro or compressed air would be nice
a sight rail is ok if you need it but who does?
if you plan on upgrading.. i would upgrade in that order.. but the gun is pretty decent out of the box.. if you can fire fast.. you will want to get a new barrel ASAP

by the way.. who actually notices a big difference in the grip when it comes to playing?
you're out having too much fun and most likely you're wearing gloves with good grips in the palm

HERE IS THE LINK FOR THE SITE WHERE THE PI-E2 IS $150:
http://www.paintballinc.com/cgi-bin/paintballinc.filereader?3d481f2c01ecae272717d82a87 3a0646+EN/products/04pie2blk
Not real hard to find; It's the link from this gun's review on this site!
About the 20bps; Unless you have a Halo-B that is not an issue, as no loader can handle 20bps. (I'm still suspicous of the new halo being able to do that). I've also never heard of a field not allowing electronic guns w/ 20bps on the field.
Hell, my Spyder EM-1 can do full-auto!
As for the rest, I guess it's just preference.
I for one would come off with the extra 25 bones for the PI-E2.

get your facts straight.... the PI E-2 uses a semi only frame but it is LCD which makes it tourney legal
what does having a high ROF have anything to do with not getting on a field??? so basically you're saying that an RT mag is worthless?
what you makes no sense... stop trying to sound smart
