why is paint still so much $?

I dont get it, these paint companys/fields charge too much.
One of the local fields charges like 70 for a case of marbs when i see online they sell it for 55-65$
proball,marbs, etc mostly run around 60 on the average a case right?
ever think how much it cost to make?
im guessing 20-30 with everything, paint, shells, boxes.
right? bring down the prices! Its all greed I tell you,
i mean theres millions of paintballers, they will still make tons of money. i say just lower thier prices a bit..

I think main reason paintball fields charge so much is because they can. If they require you to use field paint then they have a monopoly on paint and they usually jack the prices.

yeah and when you bring your own paint that you got for cheap some where they rip you out the a$$ to play with it by charging like $10-15 more

ahh I remember the good old days when paint was like 150 a case where I used to play... So paint has come down for me but I agree it sucks to pay 80 bucks for a case of paint that I can get shipped to me from an online store for around 50 bucks.

They'll charge whatever people will pay. Eventually prices will come down a small amount from competition, as they have and are, but not too much. The manufacturer and distributer still have to make some money.

I remember seeing prices when i started playing, which was 6 years ago.
paint was pretty high, all i used was nelson paintballs..
i thought it was a steal because my cousin and i would split a case of 2000 or 2500 for like 60 or 70$
i remember when proball was like 100 a case..wow....
never dreamed of shooting that stuff..
I wish paint was like 40-50 for marbs and proball, that would be kick ***
and im sure tons of people would be playing more often
everytime i play, it cost 20 for the admission, then 10 for all day air , used to be 8 , then about 70 for paint.
thats friggen 90$
i think thats crazy ...
it should be more like 60
for a whole day of paintball...

Well back when it was 150 and 200 bucks a case you shoot 10 or 15 rounds a game if you was lucky.Also you'd do a flag pull and not even fire a round.Nelson back then was a hot paint too buy cause it was one of the cheaper brands

i agree with you but the only way that the fields make money is through the paint that they sell you so maybe if we can all get togethter and cause some fields to shut down because the paint is too expensive they will lower the prices at the fields. but until then nothing can happen

ok im sure most fields charge 20$ for the playing fee.
then if you have nitro our field charges 10$ all day.
co2 , 5$ for 20 oz
paint, now they have this chart out saying they charge tax
1000 rds of marbs is like 42$
full case is like 75 i think. might be 70
proball is like 80
I just think they shouldnt rip you off so much.
about 100 people a weekend day go play.
so thats 20x100 thats 2000$ already for the playing fee
then about 30 have nitro so thats 300$ rest is co2, so thats atleast 2 fills of 20 oz.. or lower so lets put that at 200$ of co2
then paint, about average 70$ a case
so 70x80 people because somepeople bring thier own or buy less paint. 5600$ in paint!
thats just the full case, plus people who buy less, about 400 lets say thats 6000$ of paint!

so 6000+2000 addmision+300 nitro+200 co2 and other income such as renting camo,revys, etc about 200$
8700$ a day times 2 days sat and sun
17400 a weekend!
actual income after buying paint filling thier tanks, etc im wild guessing 5000 for 2days
thats a hell of a lot of money for two days...
this old field i used to go now closed, they allowed you to bring your own paint at no charge or buy thier paint which was cheap!
i say stop being so greedy and let the sport expand.
Did you ever think.. IF there was no money involved things would be done so much faster people doing things out from thier heart and not for money the world would be a better place.

at my local field they charge $90 for a case of premiums or marbs, you cant bring your own paint though. entry is free on weekends before 11am and air is $4 co2 fill $1 1k PSI for nitro

keep in mind, the money field need to spend as well. they need to pay their lease(and for a decent sized field that cant be cheap), pay their employees, manitain their field, insurance!! and advertise. This does bring down the profit dramatically. Then the worst cost of all, taxes. Up to 20 or 30% of the top automatically.

I am not saying that paint should be doubled in price like some fields charge, but we need to understand that, hey its their job and they have to make money somewhere, or we wont have fields to play at.

Well the field we play at local thats in my town theres others near by. Any way its 20 bucks you stuff,3 bucks a fill on CO@ or AIR 60 bucks a case for this snipper paint made by BE,you might get lucky and get a good case thats not all mess up.Or you can shoot BE thats 60 or wal-mart sells for 35 a case lol.
I been playing nites there 10 bucks.I got fill stations of my own so I do need nothing. The people that work there said if I bring in paint make sure its a black ball green fill. Well Nelson makes one so I get that for 40 bucks a case.
This dealer that works out of his home orders paint weekly so its not stuff sitting there for weeks .But if you really knew what there paying for paint you crap paintballs. Thats why Direct Hit is so cheap cause its for almost cost.
I can get PMI for 45 a case and not paid shipping and marbs is 52.But with this new shell PMI has got wont be shooting them much longer.
