you wont get hurt unless you get shot at pointblank range at the areas of your body that are very thin (neck, back of knee, etc) which would only be a small open wound (really really, rare)
another way to get hurt seriously is if you take off your mask in the middle of a game and get shot there at close range
follow rules and you will be ok

you can't get hurt pretty much in any other way than as insane killa said except for your weak spot ( you should know what i'm talking about )

you wont get hurt. its yur first game soyul be timid-no way around it-so you wont get hit bad. if anyone is close to you so that you might gt s small wound like insane said-they will see yur a newbie and say "Surrendor" and you say ok and that means yur hit. youll be fine. when you start to play more youll get hit more prob cuz youll take more risks but by then you dont really notice the sting a pball gives you.
ps-paintballs do not hurt. they sting. if it hurt it would hurt you for a real long time. it stings for about 30 seconds and then (unless you get hit in "bad areas"-there are a couple-) it goes away

I don't even feel any pain from the hits unless they are in...sensitive...areas now :D

Paintball is extremely safe. I read a review that said you are more likey to get hurt watching tv than playing paintball. And it was written by a college professor and it was proven to be statistically true

OK point one.
1.) NO ONE HAS EVER DIED FROM A PAINTBALL RELATED INJURY
2.) Folow rules, mask on at all times, guns 300FPS and under
::I knew I couldn't get away with just one point :( ::
3.) The worse injuries in paintball are those really big bruises.
Eye injuries happend because people don't wear eye protection.
If you follow the rules, you won't get hurt(besides the paintball briuises)
My parents used to be the same way, if you want you can have your parents contact me brown.chris@mindspring.com I can try to qalm their fears.
How old are you?
In paintball the only physical contact between players is a gelatin capsule. There is no tackling, sacking, body checking etc. People have died playing football, baseball soccer, and hockey. In paintball its just not possible. Yeah paintball is called an extreme sport, but thats just because its extremely fun. More people get injured swimming and bowling ever year than in paintball!
Yeah, a paintball travels at 300 fps which is around 200 mph, but its gelatin and paint. The most you'll prob get is a few bruises.

You'll always feel pain while playing, but you'll never get hurt. What I mean by this is that getting hit by a paintball (i'm not going to lie:)) does sting. It stings for about 30 secs, and it won't bother you after that. But you wonŽ't get any serious injuries.
At first it does sting, but it's not enough to stop you from playing, and you'll get used to it after a while. But I can promise you that IF you do follow the rules (NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER take your mask off until you have reached the safety area, and >>>ALWAYS<<< wear a cup while playing) you won't get broken legs, you won't break your arms or mess up your knees for the rest of your life. I do snowboarding during the winter and martial arts aside from paintballing, and I can promise you paintballing hurts the least out of them. I hope this helps, cos i'm one of the people that remembers his / her first time playing :)

As long as you wear the proper safety equopment, namely a paintball mask, Paintball is one of the safest sports out there. BAsketball has more injuries per year than send people to the emergency room.
Paintball can hurt. It feels like a rubberband snaping on you. But besides that, as long as you play by the rules, the is no immeninent danger.
PLay safe, and you will have a lot of fun.

Paintball is just like anyonther sport if you do not take the correct percausions than you will get heart and even if you take the correct percausions than you might get hurt. I have injured my self in baseball, soccer, and MT BIKING(especialy MT BIKING) alot more than paintballing. When you rank pantballing up to other sports like football, basketball, baseball and mt biking the dangeor factor is really low! If you want to persuade your parents I suggest going to a site like warpig.com(good site for beggingers) and finding a document about safty. The only potential hazard is if you are a dumb @$$ and take of your goggles im or close to a paintball field.

Paintballing is, as everyone else has said, safer then pretty much every other sport. It is safer then swimming, I guarantee you that, and will hurt *much* less. I can tell you this because I swim and paintball.
In paintballing the worst injury I have ever seen is a twisted ankle, granted, I havent been doing it for that long, but it seems pretty safe.
Now swimming, that is a dangerous sport. In fact, just last week on my team, this girl on my team did her flip turn too far to the right and ended up pushing off straight into my friend, she was relatively unharmed, save some scratches around her eyes from her goggles, which impacted my friends nose, breaking it in two places. Also, if you swim seriously, I guarantee you will have some sort of joint or muscle problem. Every single person on my team above the age of 16 has some sort of constant pain in their knees, shoulders, hips, or neck. Its horrible out there, I fear for my life every time I slip on my several inch speedo and slip into the cool water that harbors the worst of pains, for the love of god, grab a marker and shoot people, just, for the love of God, don't swim.
If I'm not mistaken more people get hut playing golf then playing paintball. It is an extremely safe sport. Make sure to point out to your parents the safeness of the game and the physical and mental health benefits of playing ie:excercise, new friends, teamwork, new found confidence, and lots of other great things.

I second Jake's post I golf alot and believe or not I have injured my self more in golf than paintball. When you swing a golf club you put stress on each part of your body(well 95%). I have jammed my fingers a couple of times and pulled a couple muscels golfing. And have not pulled any muscles or jammed fingers paintballing, most of paintball injuries just get better in a couple days. hard to get serously injured playing paintball.

Let me tell you a little story...
I was standing behind this big tree stump for cover. there was a little mound of dirt behind the stump behind the stump and so I was having difficulty getting a good footing. I kept slipping on that stupid hill and fell like 2 or 3 times. I ended up brusing my knee because I fell on it. I got shot several times that game but you're so pumped up on adrenaline that you forget about it after a minute or less. Paintballs won't hurt you unless you get shot by someone who is real close. Just be sure you don't stand on any slippery hills and you'll have a blast.

no, it doesn't hurt, it stings then you get a little welt. then you get out then you keep playing again

It will sting for like ten seconds really bad and after that you will feel like nuttin happend, but make sure you put ice on neones that look really bad or you will get a calcium build up and those suck cause you gotta get them surgically removed
What? Paintball doesn't hurt? It'll hurt if you're wearing a thin t-shirt... unless you cover yourself with lots of cushioned clothing it won't but, then you won't be able to be as mobile. Getting physically hurt from getting shot at is part of paintball...

The only time you'd ever get seriously injured is if you or the people you're playing with are stupid. For example, if when you're on a water break or something one of your friends jumps up and shoots at you, and accidently hits you in the eye. As long as you, and everyon you're playing with understands the rules, and is willing to play smart, safe paintball then I don't think you have much to worry about.

I doesn't hurt most of the time and paintball is more safe than bowling but... If you do get hit at pointblank range with their balls going over 300 FPS, it MIGHT hurt, but in a good way.:D

paintball doesn't hurt as much as lacrosse. trust me, i play both and getting body checked by a guy who is like 6'3'' and 240 lbs hurts alot more than getting hit buy a gelatin capsule. one time i got hit in the ribs by the lacrosse ball when i stood infront of this kids shot, trust me, no paintball can hurt that much.

Paintball is one of the safest sports. If you get shot in certain areas it might sting a bit. The only way to seriously injure yourself is to not follow the directions and trip or fall on the terrain (which is VERY rare). :D

paintball has less injuries than golf.....that has been proven...if you follow the rules at the field you will be ok....GETTING HIT DOESNT HURT..during the summer it gets hot and i wear shorts and a t-shirt it only hurts in the balls or if it is really cold out it can sting for like a sec...tell your parents to relax

About the point blank thing: Most fields have a rule that if you are within 15 feet of a person you ask them to surrender, if they don't surrender they get shot. Also if you have your own field, YOU make a rule that says if somebody shoots someone point blank they have to leave and never come back. That is how I do with my field.
ALWAYS where a mask. Even after leaving the playing area. Wait until you get a good distance away from the playing area.
A good way to persuade your parents to let you play paintball is to get them to take you to your local field and watch other people play. That's how I had to do it. :)
