I just bought a brand new M98 custom, flatline, 6 stage aci expansion chamber, double trigger, M16 stock, die sticky grip, and of course JT stickers. Is the flatine a bad investment?

IMO, yes, bad investment. I dislike it because:

1. You can't snap shoot with it or play the low sides of bunkers, because you have to turn your marker slightly to the side. This makes the barrel pick up sidespin.

2. You lose accuracy in comparrison to a normal style aftermarket barrel.

3. You get alot of bounces because of the backspin.

4. If you use big bore paint it doesn't spin that well.

However, I know people who do like it...you should just try it out first.

dislike it, i've played with one and though it does shoot further than most barrels you have to hold the gun perfectly straight otherwise you'll have paintballs turning corners. and another thing is most people that have the flatline play like girls...they say it because it shoots further but it's really because they're afraid of getting hit.

i played with a guy who had one (incedently it was the same day i got my big shot) im not sure if he installed wrong or what but he dropped the barrel right out of the gun like 3 times. when he was testing it on a wall (not even that far away, like 35 feet) and my barrel was WAY more accurate then his he said he was ver disapointed with it. i would say get a big shot and go play! dont spend all of your money on upgrades playing will make you a better player than upgrades will

I think it is. At the field some guy had one, and it had incredable distance and accuracy.

So, you are saying, if you snap shoot in the woods, it doesnt get sidespin? If you shoot large bore paint in the woods, it will spin well? The paint doesn't bounce in the woods? Where did I say I was talking about speedball? I'm talking about playing anywhere, the barrel has those properties.

Yes, indeed. I'd have to try and aim to the left of the guy when I came out the right side of a bunker...*shudder* flatline *shudder*.
