Hi, I am new to the forums, and I was wondering which gun you guys would reccomend. If I got the Excel, I would probably get a new barrel to go along with it, and I would just leave the flat line as is.

umm... the 98 dosen't come with a flatline you have to buy it separatly.

dont buy either.
the tippmann is over three feet long with the flat line and a tank. and the flatline isnt that accurate. over all i dont like the tippmann, too over rated.

i dont like the other gun cause i have never heard of it.

go with a spyder, better known, simple maintenence, highly adaptable to woods or speedball. go with a spyder.

First off, M98s are that bad of a gun. I notice a lot of people trash them on here. I started out with one and have nothing but good things to say about it. NEVER had a problem with it. My brothers use them and dont have problems with theres. Yeah they may be long, thats true, but that can be easily remedied with a remote. Tippmanns have good trigger pulls too. Im not to fond of the flatline though, they are a good long distance barrel but they are too long and hard to clean, go with a J&J or Bigshot.
I do agree with jrr112 about the Compact being versatile though. I used to think they were total crap until I bought one for fun and played with it for a couple games. They are really light and with a barrel upgrade pretty accurate. They are a blast to play with.
Make sure you get a revy and a barrel upgrade for whatever gun you get though. I know for a fact that the stock barrels on both guns are crap. They would make better wind chimes.:) Anyway you cant go wrong with both guns so good luck.
