Hey I'd really like to know how exactly an impulse works... Can someone explain everything that happens when you pull the trigger? And/or link me up to some animations of how it works? I'd really appreciate that.

Hope the link is good, if not find the FAQ asking how it works/aniimations. Good reading as well if you want to buy an imp.

Ever hear of magic elves? They are in all high end guns and use magic to make them work. Some magic elves take steroids like the ones in angels.

Sorry.... I was wrong....

I found this on SP's website....

"The valve mechanism is powered by the movement of the hammer which is controlled by the solenoid, electronics board and hob-goblins"

That animation is helpful, thank you, but I'd still like an explanation..reading it helps me as much as seeing it, actually.

I'll try and explain it, an electronic valve is used to route air from one port to the other as you can see in the animation. The valve is connected to a cylinder(ram) this works just the same as a hydraulic cylinder on a backhoe but with air and much fast.
When no power is applied to the valve it routes air to the front of the ram, the keeps the gun in a recocked state. When the trigger is pulled the control boards sends power to the valve which then diverts the air to the rear of the ram driving the hammer and bolt forward. This power to the valve is acurrately timed and this setting is called dwell. If the dwell is to long the gun will be a pig on air and too short and the velocity will be low and it wont feed balls very well.

I guess thats the basics, if you don't under stand any part of it let me know and I can explain better.
