Since this was site of the infamous collarbone rumour thread I wanted to cross post this message here.

Apparently there's a Borg out there spreading a rumor that I broke my collarbone and I won't be leading the Federation against them and the Klingons at the Paintball event.
To this, I say, "So you think I broke my collarbone? Listen to me, dude! I bend, but I don't break. Especially my collarbone. That's up by my neck, and that's out of bounds for anybody. Especially a Borg. You Borg will resort to anything...evil rumors, lying through your teeth, and crawly little cubes that don't go anywhere!
I'm going to put a stop to all this rumor mongering. You know where we're going to meet. It's going to be August 31 on the field of battle in Challenge Park outside of Joliet, Illinois. And if that doesn't take care of you, I'll meet you at the Star Trek Convention that night. That'll put you away! Just for you, I've resurrected the Red Shirt brigade. Men and women who are willing to fling their bodies at any paintball coming my way.
So the challenge has been issued. You and the Klingons are going to be very unhappy people when Captain Shatner gets through with you. Remember that! And stop spreading those unfounded rumors." Capt. Shatner

Well if you can't go get whomever you can to go because if it's a sucess you know that Next Year it will be even BIGGER and BETTER!

I still wont have transportation cause its far away. I love paintball, I want to play a scenario game so badly, I even love Will Shatner more than Mancow. And that is pretty hard to beat

Please, if you are a regular poster at any other Paintball boards take Bill's message and post it there. We want to make sure that as quickly as the rumour travelled around that the truth travels as well.
And you never know where the next one may be held. Bill certainly has not long term deals set up with the Chicago Venue. JJ from Spplat would be the person to badger about the next venue as he chose this one.
Our first mission, however is to make this event a huge success so next year we can bring in more of Bill's friends to play the game with you.

host at waynes world!!! i can make that, and if you do it in late october itll be REALLY good weather, im talking like 70-80 (maybe high 60s) with good breezes. THERE!!! and its biiiiiiiiiiiig and wayne dollack will be on his home turf, so he ll put his all into it! i wanna go to the star wars thing theyre hosting on december the 6th. but that stilld oesnt give me the oppurtunity to shoot shatner. i envision me screaming NO MORE SONGS!!!! while doing so :)

No, seriously, what is a borg? Is that like a marker he built?
borgs are a "race" of aliens. theyre basically humans that are part machine. they go to planets with their borg cube space ship, take over, put the planets population in a line, and give them the option "assimilate or die" so either your killed, or your brain is removed and you become a robot to kill other people and take over other worlds. captain picard became one once, but was rescued :)

First, Who is Picard? Second, if they removed his Brain, how could he be rescued? Third, why would anyone join them if they were basically dead anyway.
because theyre cowards and they would rather live a shell of an existence than be dead.

i could easily go to that, i live about 40 minutes from challenge park xtreme, and i live about 40 minutes from badlandz where the chicago open is played. but i dont plan to go to that big game because i hate challenge park with a passion

well for one i just lost my job and i cant pay for their field paint. $100 per case
ok now i hate it. i realize they spent millions to make the fields, but jeese, dont take it out on the customers. charge 50 bux and get 3 x more people playing and more paint being shot. i wish i could try that field out though, too bad i cant afford it. and i wanna play the star trek game :(

the feilds suck, its mostly forest, all of which are on a very steep hill. they dont let you play speedball because that is "reserved for tourneys" and you gotta wait 20 minutes inbetween games on a normal day, plus the refs are jerks, they kicked me out of 3 games because i stuck my hand up my mask to wipe sweat away from my face, but my mask was never lifted

Wait a second, could anyone describe the scenario game in detail? ie, where it is going to be, what it is about, anyone besides this Shatner character going to be there, etc.

but... armegeddon!! and the town!! and the village!! but if they reserve speedball for tournes sound like they are douche bags. id still like to try it out though.

i didnt get to play geddon or the town, armageddon wasnt open yet and we thought the town was on the normal course rotation, by the time someone told me i had to go stand in line they announced they were closing

You should try Bosnia at SC Village. It has real tanks, choppers, towers, etc. It is really big too. go to www.scvillage.com to check it out. It is under movies or something.

The Spplat.com (http://www.spplat.com/news.html) site has all the details.
I do know that it's open play for 3 days before the event for free as a part of the fee (not including paint or rentals.) If you are a Spplat member you get a discount and paint on game day (Saturday) is ridiculously cheap.
The Scenario itself was written by Mr. Shatner and you can read about it on the Spplat site.
Also a documentary on the event is being filmed and all attendees will be required to sign model releases so I encourage everyone to attend.

well i liek it, i only shoot about 1000 rds a day which is 40 bucks, and 15 dollar entrance fee, why te hating, i love cpx, plus i have no ride to badlandz(to far)

well they have lots of forest fields but they have the town, getton, and wastelands, which are fun, and the refs let you pick the fields you want to play on, also they re stic about google rules, plus the refs are nice, if you are not a newbie they r nice, im sure you could of talked to them about it and they would let you play i scratched my chin once and the ref yelled at me but i told him i didnt break the seal and he said fine and i got to play

You've really never heard of Star Trek? :confused: I'm not a trekkie but it's difficult to believe anyways. Just go to any video store ask for Star Trek or just go to the SciFi section and you should be able to find the movies (especially tte one with the borg) or just pick up the series on video they'll probably have them there aswell.

But you could both look at the date of the post, and the last post I made on that page... fully stating April Fools. I wasn't the only person making those types of things.
However, if people for some reason took this seriously, I will sincerely apologize. That was not my intention, as I had hoped that saying fools there would make anybody realize that it was nothing serious, and that Mr. Shatner is in perfect health. At least to my knowledge.
Not only an apology, but I strongly hope that this April Fools gag had no affect on anybody's status in the game.

Baldy's name is Patrick Stewart, he played Jean Luc Picard, I'm not a big trekkie, I just know the names of some characters because both of my Grandfathers are and when I was a lot younger (I'm talking 3-10) I used to watch the stuff alot with them.
i still wanna bunker william shatner, but u know he wont be playing, he ll be in the HQ surrounded by like 100 people
but then again if i was a double agent...

I have never been to a scenario game, but my friend has been to one and he said that there were like Security Nazis where if you went to the HQ some guy would threaten you. I thought it was funny because they got in a fight.
Also, he said there were Medics! What kind of crap is that!? Medics? That just allows some massive wiping.
You shoot someone, "I'm not out, a medic healed me" What the hell!?
what happens is a medic comes over, rights ur id number down, and ur healed. they have to get to u in 90 seconds, and they can be shot too

But, this is paintball! You get hit and it breaks, you are out. That is like winning the scenario and not shooting anyone. Let it go back to the way it used to be.
