I have two games to tell of. The first story is just a good game I played in, but the second game is the best woodsball game of my life.(I just really started playing woodsball a month ago, but I have a year or two of speedball and sup'air ball experience. Also, I play with an SL-68 II, everybody else has semi) The game started out as a 2 on 2 competition. I was teamed up with Dan and my opponents were Tim and Jason. Dan and I decided that we would run the right tape of the field, and try to get the high ground on our opponent's hill. Dan was the front-man and I was supposed to follow behind him and cover him during movement, leapfrog strategy really. Dan and I had just crossed the border to our enemy's side when he thought he spotted a figure with a gun. After a couple seconds, Dan wasn't sure if it was a person or not and the figure had disappeared. While we were talking about this, I looked up and saw Tim about 10 feet away, zeroed in and everything. He fired two rounds, one smacking Dan in the goggles and the other in his gun. I retreated and ran so fast that I fell down about 40 feet away from Tim. I disappeared into the woods and then made a lot of noise on the way back to their side, making sure they knew I was there. After doing this, I went down the hill and into the ravine. As I went into the ravine, a couple balls whizzed by me. I started to run when a huuuuge volley of paintballs came raining down on me. They were brushing my legs, bouncing off my shoulders and smacking into ponds, spraying up a diluted red mist all over me. I finally got to good cover when I saw Tim moving a couple yards away from me. He got behind a tree and had his gun poking out a little bit. After a moment, he started to come out of the tree, gun preceding him, and I shot him in his hopper lid. All I had to face now was Jason. I chambered a round in my pump gun and shot one to make him think I was still battling with him when I went as quickly and as quietly as I could out of the ravine and up a hill. I went through the path where Dan was eliminated. Jason was still clueless as to where I was but he soon heard me and started moving. I looked away for a second and when I looked back, I saw Jason bolting to a nearby tree. I fired a round at him. The round skimmed the tree that he had made it to and splattered paint all over him, barely missing. I popped out again and was shot in the leg. I didn't win, but I flanked my opponent's twice and took out one of them so it was a virtual victory.
My best woodsball experience-
This game lasted about 3 hours. Tim was on my team and we were facing Jason and Dan. An hour into, Tim was pinned down behind a slim tree and I was sitting in a nearby shield of sticks and leaves. I told him to bolt for a nearby tree but he was taking some fire so he would not move one inch. I egged him on a couple times but he wouldn't move. I was farther away but I still charged for a tree and made it. This gave Tim some courage and he also ran to a different tree. We progressed and progressed across our side while taking a lot of fire from both of our opponents. We knew their position and they knew ours. Finally, we got to the biggest tree in the woods. Dan was at a tree and had a dead-eye bead on our position. Jason was sitting in the grass and weeds above us, they both had sniper positions on us and were locked onto our every move. Tim and I had 2 paintballs between the both of us, we were pinned down and we were facing some terrible cover if we ever moved. But, we did find another paintball and it was in good condition. I took it.Tim wanted to call the game but I wouldn't let him. We decided to each go our separate ways, Tim- right up the hill, Me, left to army crawl across some flat ground and then proceed up to crawling the hill. Tim got damn far before he took a lot of fire. Thankfully, he wasn't hit. I stealthily army crawled out of the tree shortly after he started moving and made it under the end of a huge log. Dan and Jason were both sitting behind a log at the top of the hill. Another log stretched down the length of the hill and it was bellied up next to their position. I slowly, SLOWLY inched up the hill, using my toes and arms. The hill was carpeted with dried ivy and crunchy leaves, I had to move every time Jason and Dan started to talk. Tim started to taunt Dan and Jason. They got into an argument, giving me great sound cover to move in. I was about 30 feet away from their position. I only had to move 20 more feet. Dan called a Time out so he and Tim could argue more, but he stayed in his position. I didn't move until twenty minutes later when they finally confirmed that it was Game on. If I had had a hopper on, I would have been seen so very quickly and shot without hesitation. Luckily, I didn't and I was perfectly concealed. When the game was on, I silently crawled until I was about 5 feet away from their position when I heard Dan say "Whoa, I think Colin is right there." I bust out of my position as fast as humanly possible, pointed my gun at Jason and fired, one elimination, I chambered my last ball in at the speed of light and right before I was about to fire, Dan ran out of paint. The three hour tour of hell was over! My team was victorious. After the game, Dan said that all he saw was the slight move of ivy and he didn't even think it was me. He said that when I popped out he thought "Oh ****! It really IS Colin!" He said he felt my "presence" and that I was completely stealthy, he never heard me until I shot Jason he said. So, in the worst of conditions 3 paintballs shared between two teammates whom were pinned down, almost shot on a couple of occasions and tired prevailed against 2 semi autos with much more paint and a faaar better position. It was a great day.
