I'm not sure if its rust or not...when I rub a little oil on the tanks most of it comes off...Im not sure what it is ?!!? It's only little splotches of it on the very surface of the tanks...so who knows?

Err, if anything it's just the outside that's being messed up, and only a little bit at that. I mean, the inside only sees CO2 or air, both of which wouldn't react with a metal (I'm pretty sure). On the outside, however, you've got tons of things being exposed to the tank, and it's probably just a bit of surface erosion. I'm guessing you're fine.

LISTEN TO ME!!

there is a product called CRC is it a rust inhibitor it will get of the rust already on there then use alchol to clean of the oilyness then touch up the area with alittle paint that will fix it right up

Guesswho?

Guesswho...guess how much 30 new rental tanks would cost...that is why I would rather not buy new ones...
