what is airsoft???

Hi, I have heard tons of people trashing airsoft when opposed to paintball, and i was just wondering what it is. i looked on the internet, and all i keep getting is pictures of guns. What are they powered by? What do they shoot? etc, please fill in all the gaps for me.

i admit, it may eliminate accuracy problems, and high paint prices, but who IN THEIR RIGHT MIND would endure any of that for a rush. im sorry but its stupid and should be outlawed.

accuracy and range is WORSE in airsoft due to the mass of the BBS

-they shoot small plastic BBs. it's fairly safe when wearing paintball masks, but from what i've gathered, if you get hit on more than a thin layer of clothing you can't even feel it, and if you get hit on bare skin it's really bad.

and... this thread will probably be moved, because airsoft stuff and paintball forum don't mix

that website was so stupid....I mean that stupid pic on the page was fake. A bunch of airsoft guys posed the picture than they edited it and just stuck a cheapo walmart quality paintball marker in the corner. also i have a questions about airsoft....how do u tell u got hit? It sounds stupid to me.

At one of my pball fields, they have an airsoft field upstairs, it looks freaking scary, it's REALLY tight-quarters and stuff. one of they guys was trying to get me and my freinds to play, but we kept saying "no", cuz earlier we heard from downstairs--

airsoft shoots these tiny-*** little BBS, usu. powered by compressed gas (same stuff in air horns, i believe) or batterys. it's not that lame, but paintball is better because it doesn't rely so heavily on the honor system. and frontman, may i remind you that people say the same thing about paintball, but we both know that's not true.

I was "AirsoftSucks" and "AirsoftSucks2", I got banned both times for using alot of pictures (and at one time they accidently gave me admin status).

Someone I know is going to tell the people in those pictures how they are using it. See, the people in the pictures can Sue That Site! Also, I have the AIM name, and other stuff pertaining to the owner, if you want to talk to him. We talked about Airsoft, and I really didnt get what was so good about it.

yea, i was a little pissed last night. i guess i did go a little over. but still, when someone calls paintball a mil-sim i can show them smoked, and it wont really resemble anything of the sort. but u cant show anything like that in airsoft(at least i dont think, i havent found anything,tell me if there is).
i can see how it would be fun. for military fanatics, this would be a very real game to play and use replicas of war.

the way i worded my anger in my last post is exactly how someone like me, who doesnt know anything about the sport except its shooting bb's at 400fps, would immediatly hate it and possibly do something to stop it.

what are we that immature? dont spam the admins its THEIR website.. THEY payed for it.. dont go and try to get it shut down because all its doing is what they wanted it do to do, make people act like three year olds and run around like chicken with your heads cut off trying to annoy these people. Airsoft uses more realistic guns and a more "army" like way of playing opposed to paintball which is much different. If you like airsoft more, fine. If you like paintball more, fine. k, this one might have been asked already in this thread, but it wasnt answered... If you only have to have on a light layer of clothing to not be able to feel a hit, and i assume u dont play naked, how do you know if you've been hit? Also, what was with that "An Army is forming" or whatever reply. was that a joke? Also, how much do these guns go for?

when i was in south africa, my cousin had a BB gun. except over there, everythings messed up. They dont even sell metal BBs, his gun shot plastic BBs about 7mm in diameter. Is that an airsoft gun?

airsoft is very fun, dont get me wrong i would MUCH rather play some good ole pball anyday... my friends and i made this one course in his yard for some pball and when we ran out of air and paint we had some fun airsoft games.... airsoft bb's are in 2 different sizes. .12 gram and .20 gram.. they average a velocity of like 210.. man its soo not nearly as fun as pball but its just funny to play. iw as laughin the whole time.. my freinds all have a airsoft gun and when we play like 2 vs 2 its just great..u dont have to worry about hurting some1 very bad and u dont have to worry about gettin bunkered bc if u do it never hurts... on bare skin it feels about 1/3 the pain of a paintball..and as long as u wear ur mask your alright... i just dont like it when people make sites like paintballis***.com. i mean airsoft is a good thing to do if your really bored and u dont feel like paying money to have some fun.... its like 17 bucks for a gun at walmart and 3 bucks for 1000 bb's..and if u are just out side with nothing to do try some airsoft.. it will lighten ur spirit.. just have fun and dont take it seriously ... there will always be people making fun of every sport so i think we will just have to put up with that site... give it up. i was just there and 95% of the threads were airsoft is soooo ***, then the other 5% actually had to do with airsoft..just give it a rest and forgive and forget...
