The Cricket board is digital, this allows you to set the Dwell precisely and share that information with someone else who in turn can set theirs the same (assuming they also have a cricket board).

The original board was not as precise with the Dwell but the lack of precision allowed the Vision sensativity to work better for some as compared to the Vision on the cricket.

All in all, IMO the Cricket is better.

basically the main differences between the older board and the new cricket board is that the on/off switch is on the back (instead of the side), the dwell is 2 buttons (instead of a POT), the LED is blue (instead of orange/green), the vision version automatically calibrates the vision eye by itself and it makes a "chirp" noise when you adjust the dwell (hence the name "cricket")

the only problem is that sometimes the vision can't tell if a ball has bounced and so it may chop under really really extreme ROF.
