Tournaments

How can I find amateur tournaments for specific dates in the state of florida. Plus, how do people who run the tournaments distinguish between amateurs and professionals? Cant professionals claim to be amateurs so that they will win? I know this should have been posted in "tourney play" but someone asked the same question in that section and no one has answered it yet. I thought posting it in this section would get more responses.

sarasota, but id be willing to play at some tournaments in other parts of the state. Im thinking of forming an amateur team. I have friends in st. augustine that might join, so i might be willing to go as far as there to play. How do tournaments distinguish between amateurs and professionals?

Well in big leuges like WPF, NPPL, and PanAm. There is a card system. Once you go pro you can't go back for over a year. Plus you don't start at Amueter, you start at rookie, go to novice after a year than after another year you go Amateur.

i was wondering what kind of guns u people have just because you have to be very good if you want to go agianst those kinds of teams ( its how good the gun is its how good the person is)

Uh there are tons of people at these tournies in the rookie class that shoot spyders and m98's, mags, ect.

Actually counterfeit, i just went to the NAAPSA website, and you start out as novice not rookie. Plus to the deranged person who said the gun equals the person....bull$hit. Ive whipped angels, upgraded shutters, and other enormously expensive guns with my low budget
GT-2000. Like ive told people continuously, its not the gun that creates skill, its strategy, communication, and teamwork that makes skill. Without these, the gun is useless. Now if ur implying that an upgraded barrel, low pressure, or any other add-ons can IMPROVE the naturalistic skills or features of a gun or person (like aim, stamina, or consistency) than you are right. But an expensive gun will not, and i say NOT, create a perfect paintballing killing (marking) machine. This is like saying that a person born with 50 IQ can advance to the intelligence of a person with 150 IQ. No, but they sure as hell can work their *** off to achieve the maximum of that 50 IQ.

By the way, for the reasons above, I am upgrading my GT-2000 and am adding an expansion chamber, lapco bigshot barrel, low pressure chamber, and a couple others that i havent decided on yet. If i do end up getting my *** killed in a tournament, I know it will be from the other team's skill and not from their gun

i play with some of the best equipment around, but i just dont feel like a tournament quality player yet, in a year or so maybe ill go pro. and the statment the gun doesnt = the player does hold true to every player.

No, in the NPPL, WPF, and PanAM, you start off as rookie. Plus you will also see a lot of spyders even at the amatuer level.
