This thread is a warining to all Canucks and others too.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CANADIANPAINTBALL.COM
The people at Canadianpaintball.com are a bunch of pricks.

Long story short I ordered a Lapco barrel, unaware that they were backlogged. I waited and waited for it to come. emailed them finally after like 3 weeks and asked what was wrong. They tell me that Lapco is backlogged. Fine I will wait... and wait... So I decide this is nuts its been like a month and I ask if I can change my order to a SP AA stainless. They say ok they will check first. I wait more I email them again asking if everything is ok. They send me a message saying that I can only get something similar to Lapco like a Terminator. I freaked. First they say one thing then another. So I say cancel my order this is insane
They send send me this email:

"From: Canadianpaintball.com
To: Jason S. Monkman
Cc: Canadian Paintball
Sent: Wednesday, June 06, 2001 4:35 PM
Subject: Re: Order #643
If you choose to do business with someone else on the basis that a manufacturer doesn't have a product that I cannot get, I encourage you to take your business somewhere else. I should have treated you like crap, not answered any of your e-mails, and offered you no alternative, because it sounds like that would have been the only way I would have kept your business."

WE DO NOT NEED SUPPLIERS LIKE THIS POLLUTING OUR SPORT

Every place is backordered for Lapco right now, you cant blame them for that. As for an AA stainless, that is a more expensive barrel, why should they switch over at a loss when there is nothing they can do. Sounds like a misunderstanding from my perspective

Deciding which barrel is better than another, as a company, is impossible. They're supposed to be objective, and that's a subjective task. What is some guy thought the Terminator rocked but a J&J sucked?

They arent looking to give you a barrel of similar quality, they're looking to give you a barrel of similar price. And maybe if you'd asked for a Cermaic from JJ you coulda got it

IN the states we have the better buisness burea. I don't know if you have a similar thing like that in Canada, but I'd turn them in for that e-mail, if nothing else that e-mail makes me angry. I'd be fine with everything else, but that e-mail just erks me on.

They should have told you they were on backorder
They should'nt have written you an e-mail like that
They should have offered you a refund.

These are basic good buisness dealing ideals. I'd BOYCOTT, them to, but I don't live in Canada, if I ever do I'll be sure to do that. What that e-mail said was uncalled for.

They should have told him about all the backorder business and when he asked for another barrel they should have given him options not just a generalization. If he wanted a SP, they shoulda just told him that he'd have to pay the extra money for it instead of just saying something like "uhhh...you could get a terminator!" Hell, where I live, if something like that happens, you demand a discount and they usually give it to you!

Seriously people, what is wrong with ordering from your mfking pro shops? You get better service, and someome to talk to if there's a problem. I'll never udnerstand how everyone goes nuts over buying online when most of the time you get hassled. There are very few online stores with any credibility or enough people to help you. They way that online stores stay so cheap is by having a minimal staff working there. That's all fine and good until you realize they ahve NO TECH SUPPORT NUMBER and there's nobody who'll respond by email because they are swamped

I can tell you what's wrong with ordering from my pro shop. First of all, they're more than 30 minutes away. That more than an hour drive to fit into my schedule, every time I go. Second, they don't carry any parts I need. I have to special order everything. Third, their service isn't great. I asked them to order a bolt for me, and when I called back 4 days later like they said, they told me they never ordered it. When the bolt finally came in, I wondered if the connector pin came with it (it was a shocktech) by any chance. They lied and said yeah, it did. It's not a huge deal, but I didn't know how to take out the connecter pin from my stock bolt at the time and I didn't enjoy being lied to. Finally, their prices are much larger than those online. So far I haven't had a single problem ordering online and I've recieve cheaper prices than I would at my "local" store, so I'll keep doing so until something goes wrong.

Service like that comes from companies that do not have proper customer service procedures in place to begin with. Its obviously a 1 man show, or very small, and they can't handle the volume they are getting. Try to go with a bigger company, and pay a bit extra if you have to to get decent service.

Finally as of June 10th, I believe, Canadianpaintball.com cancelled my order.

As for Eltwitcho's comments. I said that I would pay the difference for the SP AA stainless. So it isnt about a difference in perspective

sounds like Canadianpaintball.com is evil...did they have to be that mean in the letter? Way to promote bussiness!! They should get a new slogan..."we WILL treat you like cr@p!"

Well perhaps I was premature. It has been like 4 months and I have yet to see my credit card refunded. I have been to toher forums and learned that Canadian paintball.Com has a habit of doing this.

So I say again F@#$ THEM IN THE HEART AND NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!

If they haven't refunded your credit card, you can file a dispute with your credit card company. You'll have to fill out some paperwork. Your credit card company (the bank that owns your credit card service) will give them a little bit of time to dispute your claim. If they do not successfully dispute the claim, the money will be yanked from their account and returned to your credit card.

Just call the 1-800 number on your credit card and tell them you want to dispute a charge. They should give you the rest of the info you need.

As for supporting your local shops: I agree if you have one that deserves your support. Also, not ALL online stores have bad customer service. We ship to Canada. :)

I agree with elTwitcho, this is most likely a misunderstanding. However, I would have expected them to respond in a much more professional manner. No matter how angry a customer may make you, even though in this case it really doesn’t seem like they should be angry what so ever. As the saying goes, "the customer is always right".

They must have been mad at you for a reason, how did you word your requests?

I've bought two products from them. Although they were late (due to product delays and such) I got the item I paid for. I'd do business with them again.

lol, my field is starting to carry a few items that they picked up from the PMI distributor, they are selling a clear 9v revvy for $75 and 20oz tanks for $40. that made me laugh.

so yeah, online ordering is for me. but the only stores that i would order from are g3pb.com and countypaintball.com. also i can drive over to paintball-online.com (their warehouse is closed to me) but their selection sucks, but they carry some stuff, like 12v revvies, jt jerseys, etc.
