View Full Version : spyder TL bolt problem
Ok ive got a new spyder TL thats had about...700-1000 balls put through it. I oiled it with PMI perfect oil before it was ever used. I just disassembled it and there are nasty scrape marks on the top right side pretty much where the feed port meets the bolt. Any ideas why the hell its scraping like that? What should i do about it?

That seems to happen on all of the tl's I've seen, some worse then others. I don't know if it effects performance or not but it's kinda scary huh?

i got a tl and mine does that too..but don't worry about it. It won't affect performance at all.

all spyders do that...but if you notice ...the frame is fine, not a mark on it.....the delrin bolt I am now using doesn't seem to have that happen...or I just can't notice it because it is solid plastic..(white)...

oh yeah..how is the Shocktech Delrin bolt? i was gonna get one..but i got an AKA bolt instead. That bolt doesnt have marks on it either, but my stock does. No performance is affected, so i'm not worried.

From what ive heard, the delrin bolt is great, doesnt scrape, and is quiet. All spyder bolts scratch, my stock one did, and so did my new after like 5 shots

cool...i really ilke my AKA bolt though, and i think it's the best you can get, so i don't regret spending that extra 15 bux. Thanx anywayz though

Can the AKA Lightening handle High Pressure or is it all out LP. If it is all LP can someone recomend a good bolt for High Pressure???

I really like the shocktech delrin bolt....it is quiet and the flow is great...BIG difference compared to the stock one....and it is alot lighter..which also helps with the low pressure....the only drag is that the quick strip on it is useless because it doesn't retract enough to clear the stock strip pin...

aka products are meant for low pressure use. If you're talking about like hp systems, yeah it can handle it, but the AKA bolt/valve should not be used without regulated air.

My stock bolt is mared up BAD, and i shot about 4000 rounds through it, I bought a bob long Cyclone III bolt about a month ago.. 3000 rounds later. no marks on it..
I'm thinkin the mold at kingman hasa flaw and no one has said anything to them yet.. I've sent them a letter about the problem, like noticed here, every other kingman spyder owner i know has a mared up stock bolt, but a fine aftermarket one.
