What is sherwood like?
I've only been to The jungle
How mush is sherwood?
Anyone go to Sherwood Forest this saturday? I did.
Anyways in reference to the price of Sherwood.
$20 all day. for Self equipped players.
$40 all day. for Rental players.
Private games are COOL.. I heard it costs $200 with 30 players maximum (each of them pays a discount price too.. I think it's 10 dollars off) This is totally much better than stupid tournaments.. everyone can pool some money in and just say whoever gets the most game wins gets all the money. I think a private group did this and it was pretty pretty fun. Last Winter and Spring season they had this deal where you could pay $5 less if you showed up before the 9am Paintball safety speech. GO to PAINTBALL Paradise in San Francisco and get coupons for -$2 off coupons.. for stuff like $6 hpa refill all day, $3 20oz co2 refill, $18 for all day self equip.
No 3-6-etc shot electro assisted guns... All semi.
It's totally different from Paintball Jungle... where as it's more speedball than wood forest... You have to pay a fee to use your own paint unless you go to Paintball Paradise in San Francisco and get a paintball pass... after buying their paintballs.
There's only one porto-toilet.. which is not so cool considering sometimes there may be up to 75 players MAXIMUM.. I usually see about 50+ people on the field..The paintball prices are astronomically psychotic ... for example $7 for 100 paintballs. The food/drink hugely contrasts from that.. You can get $2 a slice of pizza and $1 a bottle of water or gatorade.
The refs are cool too. This field is 2nd from Bear Creek and much better than Jungle IMHO. I like wood forest better since all you do in speedball is mass firepower.. that's no fun for my wallet.
The people you'll meet are generally nice... Occasionally there will be that little person with an electro gun who will disrespect your gun or a couple of people who will go in a stupid fit if friendly paintball hits them... DEFINETELY lots of wipers... but what goes around comes around... well actually I just move up and make more taunting threats.. but that's all I can do. It's just a game. Oh yeah.. there's LOTS OF CHICKENS and FARM ANIMALS next door heh.
Creek, the location of Sherwood Forest is right next to Paintball Jungle...

is sherwood better than the jungle? do more people play? Reid Smith to answer your question you should read tsr's post it says it's 6 bucks for all day
You're going this weekend? Aww that sucks, I just sent my marker to PP Shop to get it repaired. I'm going next weekend. I've tried both fields Jungle and Sherwood. Jungle is right next door to Sherwood... Jungle has OK refs.. Occasionally you may play against the San francisco Hornets (I'm not fond of them.. you'll find out later on if you decide to go to Jungle) They have unique fields (than Sherwood) but their prices are a tad higher than Sherwood. Sherwood is basically plywood and forest type of field... I like this field in particular even though they use plywood as covers (a bunker is a bunker eh?) Half the people that go there are newbie/rentals, the other half semis and electro users. The refs here are cool, none of them are bent on kicking your ***. Paintball Jungle gets 100-125 people on average... that's pretty huge compared to 50-75 for Sherwood Forest. But depending on how you play... you may like either. I found that I was able to sit down and fix my marker for a full 4-5 minutes behind a bunker while our walk-on opponents were just 30 feet away. On average you will get 10 games from 9am-3:30pm... these games last 15-20 minutes. Remember to get those COUPONS from PAINTBALL PARADISE IN SAN FRANCISCO to get -2 dollars off the $20 entrance fee or 20oz co2 refill or all day hpa refill.
I went there earlier this month in June and saw 3-4 Angel players.. .. I think one of them was an Ironmen too (WE WERE KICKING THEIR ASSES since they were on the other team) If you play at Sherwood you'll note that there will be games.. where there are no clear victories... just stalemates.. Sometimes you will be surprised when the ref blows the whistle at the end of the game only 2 people pop up from the other team while on your side you have 8 guys left (LOL) There's lots of cover to decieve others how many guys you have. Sometimes the ref will forget to announce how much time we have left... During a game I was surprised we had a minute left and that's when people started spray painting. But since most games are timed at max 20 minutes use a watch to time it down.

i like sherwood alot to, when i went there was a guy from tru image playing with a tricked out phantom pump gun hehe he let me see it, and there was a ironman there, no surprise since bob longs shop is in concord, and another guy from dynasty that used to work at fairgrounds to was there. the people at Sherwood are pretty good, but its always fun to bunker them newbies (god those rental guns are loud)
I was there too. The guy with the pump is Alex, and the Ironman that played the one game was Oliver Lang. A Lot of the younger SC ironmen guys live in the area and used to play at Mare Island a lot. So any given day you might see him or Billy Wing from time to time. The guy that runs that field plays for Outta Control the former NPPL Amateur B Champs. Alex is starting a new rec team Tru Image Too which isn't a tourney driven team like Emerald, Jade or Onyx. We are looking for people to fill spots on the Jade team if anyone is interested.

I was the big guy in the Black JT Camo Jersey. Alex was always standing around us. My other teammate had on a wicked jersey and was the one with the black angel and his new toy his warp feed. I was shooting my electic blue defiant.

I don't know anything about the hornets dream team, but I am a Hornet *cough* although I don't play with them I know them. I think the team your talking about is MADCATZ. The one with Pineapple Mike, Jaquin, Gary and them. I play for Tru Image Onyx. Yeah I remeber you guys now. hehe, ya i got the teams all mixed up, man i had gun troubles that day so it was hard to shoot straight hehe, wow its a small world though never thought i would talk to any one on the forums that went to sherwood the same day i did. Hehe the guy had to edit the tape alot cuz it was for his class and like me and my friend kept mooning the tape so he would have gotten in trouble if he shwoed it. Oh ya i remeber seeing your friend with the warp feed and angel, i saw him dump paint on that house with all those newbies lobbing paint at the end of a game, my friend rushed in the house and he had cleats on and shot the people then slipped and hit his head on the floor of the house hehehe
yeah he was going nuttz with that warp feed. That was cool what you guys did with the camera I hope you guys got a lot of good footage
