is there anyway to increase your shot distance on a blowback marker? i already replaced the bolt and barrel, which improved both distance and accuracy greatly, but is there another way to increase distance??
thanks

try new springs... (i had a rebel for awhile, and i got sum new springs, the range increased alot)

Ok one thing about range, it is based on your velocity. If you gun is shooting 300FPS the ball will be able to travel as far as any other paintball gun shooting 300fps. If you want more range you can increase your velocity but playing with it like that is much more likely to injure someone.

injury is none of my concern. im not playing tournament... its just a bunch of guys out in the field who cant wait to get back and compare the size of welds we have, lol. the only problem at shooting at 300fps is that the balls have a tendency to be less accurate. i want to shoot around 260-280fps with a nice accurate shot and good distance. the springs sound like a good idea, i kind of forgot about them. if i order the spring kit (this is for nitza), do you remember what spring i should use? are they labeled according to what they can do??

the red spring is the stiffist one=more power

I would've thought that the springs would just change your velocity...

velocity will increase the distance.... im only shooting at like 250fps right now, the spring should hopefully get me up higher to where i want to be.

Fair enough, I just think that if you're shooting at 280fps, and someone else is also shooting 280, the springs you use wont add any extra distance.
If you want to get better range, check the paint-barrel match, and maybe look into a regulator. More consistancy will mean that you're shots will land closer together, and have less fluctuations.

i dont think he knows how to change velosity, springs arent gonna make you shoot farther, neither will bolts or barrles besides the flatline......
your gun can shoot just as far stock as what you hav enow

get closer = longer range:biglaugh:
im sorry, dat was just too tempting

mr. noodles pretty much right, if you move up and get closer then you wont have to worry about distance:eek:

whoa, dont start making it look like im a newb. trust me i get close enough. upgrades do make a big difference, distance and accuracy have improved since i modded it from stock.... and i dont know how to change my velocity?? com'n now, that was just dumb.

thats what it sounds like, the springs proboly raised your velosity which made ou think you were getting greater distance,
as for that other stuff, the new barrel proboly made it seem like you were shooting fartyher, but you were only getting better accuracy at father ranges, not shooting farther
NOTHING BESIDES THE FLATLINE BARREL WILL MAKE YOU SHOOT FARTHER

That's fair. As long as nobody gets hurt. We had some outlaw ballers come to our field and this one guy was BRAGGING about how he was in a fort and shot someone below him in the top of the head shooting about 350. I told him he was an idiot. I wanted to stroke the guy.
Go through this basic velocity checklist to see if any of these will increase your fps.
· Make sure you are screwing your velocity screw/thumb adjuster in clockwise to raise your velocity.
· Oil the bolt and hammer. A blowback without oil can shoot 100 fps slow!
· Make sure the paint you were shooting isn't really small bore and that it can't just roll through your barrel.
· Check the o-rings on your bolt and make sure that you are using black bolt o-rings, not clear bottle o-rings. Also make sure that your front o-ring is still there.
· Make sure that the cup seal is completely screwed into the valve pin. Check that the ridge in the valve pin seats against the Valve Cup Seal.
· Your filters in your vertical asa might be clogged. Try blowing air through them the reverse way. Some people have had good results using carburetor cleaner and WD-40 as well.
Make sure that you have not installed your valve in backwards. It goes in with the clear o-ring facing forward and the large hole facing forward.
A high tension green spring will work if everything above does not.
You can also drill out your asa if you are still having velocity problems due to not enough air getting into the gun.
That is a Pirahna guide but should apply to Rebels as well. Good luck.

and yes, we may shoot hot on occasions, but not like that... we arent idiots, we do have our limits

If the velocity was raised he would get greater distance. :|

He may have been shooting more effectively at long distance.
By the way, the Flatline isn't the only way of increasing distance while keeping the same velocity. Don't be a jerk.

don't bother buying new springs. stretch yours

I was thinking about that. Does it work?

I advise that you DO NOT stretch springs. It works for a bit but it weakens the springs.
I just payed the $10 for a spring kit. Mine came with a few main springs and valve springs.

how big of a difference to the valve springs make?
MINDofSIN

Not a huge difference. They're nice if your going low pressure.
