Just curious, how many autococker owners play without the shrowd on?

Hell no. I would never. It would ruin my chrome pneuys

i do because i play near a lot of rocks and dont want to mess up the pneumatics . i put electrical tape in side it to keep it on snug and to keep it from scratching the pneumatics

i have ans pnumatics so my stock shroud dont fit, and even if it did, i wouldnt use it. it scratches up the block and the reg and the 3 way and it just doesnt look as cool with the shroud on

heheheeh I think the cocker's look like sh1t with the shroud and I dread the day ya walk out on the field and some newbie yells WOW! is that a rainmaker... and you raise your hand to back hand him just as you notice with your shroud on ...it does quite resemble the dreaded BE

I hate how it looks with it on but I dread having to clean the pnuematics / front block if a ball hits there...or much more dmg to the hoses.

i have an ans cocker...even though i love to look at them perty front pnuematics...iwould hate to see em covered in paint. i cant stand people who play without there shroud on just to show off there pnuematics. it pisses me off and i usually try to hit thier pnuematics and cover them in paint just to teach them a lesson:)

It is easy to clean pnueies. I would rather spend 5 minutes cleaning them than have them scratched to sh!t and look like crap. Also I want to be able to adjust my rock without taking the shroud off.

all you have to do to keep from scratchin the pnueys is put a little electrical tape on the inside of the shroud and it wont scratch up the pnueys.

but why do that? There is no reason to me to leave the shroud on.

well the only reason i keep it on is because it protects the pnueys
i for one think the shroud looks cool

Well, the pnueys wont get damaged from a direct paintball hit, and the hoses MAY pop off, though i've never heard of this happening. I've had to work with cocker 3 way hose for my intimidator, and the stuff is really cheap, and not too tough to work with, so you shouldnt worry about damaging them.

Hehe, and everyone got mad when they saw the new 2001's had plastic shrouds. If you ask me, good move on WGP's part. A plastic shroud is cheaper to produce, won't scratch your pneumatics/barrel, and hey, seems nobody plays with the shroud anyway, so who cares? :p

It was a good move for them, but the shroud is ugly.. It seems that WGP is markeing the autococker as a beginners gun now... And to answer the question, when I had my cocker, I played shroudless.

reminds me of a similar incident with my shocker, i was standing on the field and some little kid walks up and says,"so, how do you like your impulse?" my reply was,"i love my shocker."

Well, they dont look really alike at all, but you gotta be patient with those kids. They see smart parts, and they know smart parts makes the impulse, they try and guess your gun to look knowledgeable, and sometimes they make mistakes. Time was that I couldnt pick out an angel oh so long ago, and I figured any electro that wasnt a shocker was an angel (which back then was ALMOST true). Be patient with em, we were all clueless one day. Not to say you handled that wrong, that was a real good answer, but i've seen people really shoot newbies down before, and it's kinda disheartening to see people be so mean.

Besides, your gun gets called an impulse, i get alot of "What the F**k is that thing?". Although it's nice, I like the attention, hehe

I actually like the rainmaker. How many people just make the snap decision that since it's made by Brass Eagle it's a horrible gun? It's cheap, shoots fast, and is deadly accurate with the stock barrel. True you might have problems with malfunctions but that's what the warranty is for. I know a guy who was having trouble with his and when he called Brass Eagle about it instead of fixing his old one they sent him a brand new one, it was a later model too. I hate everything else brass eagle makes but when it comes to the rainmaker I think it beats the hell out of any spyder or piranha or anything like that. So I figure if you're not going to flame spyder then leave Brass Eagle and it's Rainmaker alone.

I like the fact that the shroud not just protects the pnuematics, but also hides them. You really can't tell whats under there, or what barrel you have because it hides the back half of it.
Then again, I love dishing out surprises.
The 2001 shroud is nicer than the older style IMHO.
