View Full Version : Breaking in a Regulator?

Lately I've heard a little about breaking in new regulators, but I have a bunch of questions.

1. Do all regulators need to be broken in?

2. You can just dry fire right?

3. Is it better to sweetspot the reg before trying to break it in?

4. What exactly does breaking in the reg do?

5.

Any other info would be great. Thanks

Not all guns need to be sweetspotted, but I don't imagine it matters much when you do it

All regs need to be broken in

Dryfiring will work just fine

Breaking in the reg will allow the reg to be more consistent

I can't really answer "5", that one is well over my head

how do you "break in" a reg? Oh and Twitch, I noticed you have a red and black vigilante reg. I was wondering if you ordered that online, and if so where? Thanks in advance.

Simply cycle the gun. 2500-4000 shots should do it

Do a search for sweetspoting in the cocker or general forums...you'll find all you need.

Depends on what pressure you want to run at. If you want to run at a lower pressure, you want less spring pressure, so you would turn your velocity pretty far out and then use the reg to adjust your fps. If you wanted higher pressure you would do the opposite. A spring kit will also help in lowering your pressure if thats what you're after

Irom my vigi was bought at a proshop (Extreme Rage in Tampa FL) and I'm currently using a sidewinder. The vigi is a great reg though, for the price I think you'll be really happy. I'm not sure who stocks em online however

Twitch, why are you ignoring me? I asked that vigilante reg question in a PM that I know you read and in this thread.
