newbies are really bad at this. they'll all brag to thier friends, "i shot the guy with the angel out!" like it makes them any better or a hero. probaly cuz it really intimidates them, like they look up to you or something. but atleast it's not keeping them from the sport. but what's funny, is that if you have a 'cocker or angel, or any blowforward gun, they look and stare, in complete awe, and tell their friends, and you can tell that they are all intimidated by you, and if you're not on their team, they are all scared out of thier wits, and sit, and wait for you to come, or hope that you don't. that's when i think it's funny. but at times like "i shot the guy with the angel!" it gets on my nerves. tell me what you think.

It don't bug me a bit.most of the time I get like 2 or 3 guys after me all the time no matter what. Its no big deal too me. If they talk they talk most of the time I am busy cleaning my marker or b.s.ing with my friends.I do get people looking at our teams markers cause alot of people never seen that many blazers in one place.

what do you expect? angels are widely known as one of if not the top gun in paintball. people ARE going to be intimidated and ARE going to brag to their friends when they take you out with their spyders. oh well i guess you and your angel ill have to comfort each other as you get through these difficult times. poor you

the funniest thing i remember seeing is the hotshot kid who thought he was so good with a upgraded shutter he got for his b-day started making fun of this kid with a stock tippman and needless to say this kid. in the next woods field the two were on diff teams and the kid with the shutter got gogged big time by the tippmann.

I know it's kinda of mean and a TOTAL negilence of the rules but if some kid is being an a-hole about shooting me and my way-past-tricked cocker, I will "accidently" shoot him in the butt area on our way back to the staging area. Sorry but you know us people with tricked cockers, we can't controlling our spasmatic fingers.

i hate when they do that, in fact, i remember the first time i ever went paintballing, this one kid with a sheridan xts nemisis was making fun of some guy's shocker! what an a ss! i swear, everyone on my team hated that kid, and we all got a shot in on him during the next game! it was great. the reason we all got a shot in on him is because he never called himself out!

I dont care because the only hits I get hit by are by being either Ballsy or stupid. I.E Running into a fort, bunkering someone, I havent get hit behind a bunker for a while know. Only when I am running around.

Today, I was using my Automag and ppl were like, "Wow, what's that?" Just a lil' Mag w/ a 12" carbon fiber barrel running of a 9oz co2!
They made a mess of their pants when guys w/ a Cocker and Defiant showed up.
People treat me amazingly well when I use my Shocker w/ the 16" barrel. The usualy question is "Is that a sniper rifle?" "Well, yes kind of....."

I love it, people are like "oh he's awesome, he's gonna be on our team, look at his damn gun". Then after a few games they're going "Ohhh kay, how about you guys take the guy with the intimidator and we get the guy with the Spyder?"

all you have to do is show up to the field with a talon ghost, and act like a newbie, asking everyone wehre to fill up your "nitrous" tank (when you have a co2), show off your 12 volt hopper (which is a 45 round hopper with the words "12volt" on the side) adn compair your gun to shockers and e-mags. then when the game is aobut to start, whip out your great gun, and kick all their asses!
this only works if you are good at paintball

When newbies have B-Days I am always the last one picked and am always the last one eliminated. THey leave me against 4 or 5 people while they stay in the back and shoot at the other teams bunker and quickly get elimated.

Well I just got a dark angel a couple weeks ago... either people hate me or love me... Personally it kind of bothers me the way peoples attitudes change towards you when you show up to play and have an angel. I don't claim to be good at paintball. I just like having fun. So if I use my tippmann, minimag, or dark angel I want to have fun. I don't brag or flaunt my gun. Actually I am rather quiet and try to go with the flow but I don't enjoy people trash talking or giving me flak for what I am using. Ah wonder what they will say when I buy a timmy?

Its funny, when I had my pump people would think I would suck for not having a good ROF or be a paintball god for using a pump.
I remember one game where I was put on one team because "It won't be fair if we have a crappy pump gun on our team". I Flanked them in speedball (go figure) and they changed their minds :D

YEah, considering the was like this 27 year old yesterday, w/an angel, he had no clue
people around here get mad at me for upgrading from a talon, they're like. Why didn't you just keep your talon, it was so much more fun that way. My response, when yo're as good as me you can use any gun and win. I just want to make sure there's at least 4 gobs of paint on your body when you call yourself out. Actually i didn't say that i just make up some stupid excuse and end up sounding dumb. that's only when i play with the new people around here. Most of the hardcore players around here have better guns than i do and theirs actually work. Needless to say trying to make my Spyder LP has proven quite frustrating and am about 2 days away from breaking down and sending the whole darn thing off to a guy to fix it up and have it working. I just can't do it by myself.

Thor the Mighty-i hear you all the way. there was some football players at our local field one day,and they thought they were the total sI-Iit cuz they won state last year. anyways, we were playing, and he's making fun of this guy's tricked out bm2k while he's got a tigershark. the clear one. it was so rediculous hearing them talk. one of the guys didn't know what a hopper was and he was among the guys trashing the bm2k. don't get me wrong, bushy's are great guns. anyways, we were at the line, fixing to break, and he starts talking mess to me too! i didn't do a damn thing to him and he starts trashin me too! i wasn't surprised at all when the guy with the bm2k gogged him about a minute into the game. it was so funny. newbs judge me with my impy. they think it's an angel, but i have no clue why. it gets on my nerves, but i think it's funny in the end.

I agree with a number of you. Many newbies are totally afraid to be against guys with their own guns. Nevermind what it is, if its different from the field guns, then they are usually like, "omg, I wanna be on their team", or "wow, they must be professionals".
In that respect I am like FizNid... I just sit back, don't say anything, and if ppl are liek that to me, I just say "hey, I can be hit like any one of you." OK, so I can put out more paint.. but thats not the point. I'm not invinsible.
I started with a Brass Eagle Stingray for frick sake. And newbs were still like that.
And on a related topic: Its not the gun that makes the player. If you have a an angel/intimidator/impulse/shocker etc etc, but have no natural or learned skills, then yer just a pilon.
THE GUN DOESN'T MAKE THE PLAYER, I have seen time and time again where little kids with cockers or some other nice gun that their mommy and daddy bought for them, and all they do is sit back and dump. Thats ***... I think everyone should start out with crappy guns.... well ok, I don't wish a stingray on anyone but my enemies.
But think about this: Do you think the guy whos had the stingray for years will know how to use it?
Now compare that skill to the kids with 'cockers.
Of course there are exceptions, don't get me wrong... but damn.... I think I've said enuf...

BTW, I started out with a Stingray 2 (see through version) and newbies were like. Oh man, that is awesome.

Sorry buddy if you have a good gun you are considered good. They deduce that "Well, he must be really into paintball if he has an expensive gun like that, so he must play a lot" which makes you experienced and good. Unless you know the person (i know a kid with a Shocker who isnt as good as his gun) you are stereotyped. I have a Tippmann so i am "the newbie" on the feild.

i love it man. haven't had any problems with it at all. only 1, jus because i unscrewed a screw that wasn't supposed to come out. some loctite fixed that though. it works really well on co2, alot better on nitro (of course). shoots extremely fast, revvy has trouble keeping up too. trig needs a job...i'm gonna get a wermstick..where ever they went, they aren't on the site any more! oh well. anyways, the gun is tightass.

i think these are all good points i dont care who is on my team when i play.i have fun. you know a kid with a stingray could eliminate someone just as fast as a pro with an angel both guns shoot paontballs both with break balls on someones body. people used to ask me WTF kind gun is that when i first got my JT Excellarator 3.0 but now they all know what it is.and it gets anoyying when we are all in line chrono and some of the guys with cockers and angels are makeing fun of because they got us out.
