remember when you were a newb..? way back when... or not so way back when...

how were you treated by the more "advanced" players...

i personally got the best of both worlds...every once in a while i would find that one dude that was uber helpful... answered all my questions...

but most of the time it was just a bunch of experiance newbs talking smack...

well my first real paintball experience was a great one, you were playing in this wooded field and this guy with a shocker was doing good, and this guy runs up to bunker him and i pop out and get the guy out:) , so that guy thought i was cool the rest of the day then when we were playing at another field all of the good guys had a team of about 10 and the other team had about 30, and they picked me with my tippy to be one there team:) , we won, after that we played a defend the fort game, and this guy on the other team popped in and had a clear shot at are best player and a snap shoot him out:) , that was a great day

Newbs are treated like everyone else, when they start saying BS, bragging about their marker and acting like idiots we don't like them.:eyes:

Ive never said to anyone anything stupid like their marker sucks or i'll kick there ***, I have always been polite so Ive never got any attitude. The guys that are mean off the bat you need to ignore:)

I got a lot of, "Oh no, a newb with a pump, BE CAREFUL, hahaha". It stopped after the third game. Other than that, nothing.

my first game(about year and half ago) was all newbs
so no one talked smack but I was really close to kicking some ones *** because i shot him 3 times every game him and his friend were walking away(after we were done) and opened fire on us with our masks OFF! me and my bud chased him down and made him scared, he finally apologized to us, after that only person to talk smack to me was some 18-20 yr old bragging casue he had an impulse and my spyder sucked, i sure showed him:agree:

I was extremely fortunate in that respect. The experienced players at my field were great. I complimented their equipment, didn't brag at all, and earned some respect through insane moves. (First speedball game I ever played I bunkered a tourney player with a Defiant. What did I have to lose?) Two years later, I would consider myself friends with most and teammates/good friends with a few of those players.

Now, I am one of the helpful guys. I go out of my way to make conversation, educate others about the sport and equipment, and ensure everyone is having fun.

every summer I work at a camp that has a paintball field and I have to experiance newbs every single day, they give me a whole bunch of BS, but I just let it pass because they don't even realize what they're saying is BS. It just ruins the fun when a ref (me) gets beef from somebody playing out on the field, the person will start to be a butt head and keep on playing when he is already out

I took some shizits from the tournament players at my local field in the beginning, but then I moved to another field and everything was great the experienced players their where real nice and helpful. Now i am one of the more experienced players and help out some of the younger guys, that is part of the fun in paintball, helping others out.

When I started out, i started with a group of friends playing outlaw. We were all new, in our 1st or 2nd game, so we learned as we went. There were one or two kids among the 8 or so of us that knew what they were doing, so we learned from them.
