how are ips tracked

hehe... I'm a mod on another site and any moderator or super depend on their system here can see the IP of the person at any given time.

ya, on some other forums your IP is posted in the bottom right corner of every post you make... It is tracked similar to how a phone number is tracked with caller ID...

You can have my IP. My cable internet with roiuter assigns a different Ip to every computer meaning i can post from any of the 5 comuters in my house and its all me. Ok i just firgured out it trakes the IP according to where you post from so this post was usless.
