View Full Version : What psi do you set your Stock Black Draguna at?

Just wondering what you guys set your stock black dragun at when your using nitro? I have been playing with the regulator on mine and at 550psi the stock regulator can keep up but above that it seems to shoot down some. It used to take a little bit for the psi to get up to the set psi. However, lately it seems to be going right to the set psi. The gun is fairly new only about 2 cases of paint through it. I imagine the regulator may not be fully broke in as it seems like it is getting more and more consistant. Also does it help to put a couple drops of paintball oil in the asa from time to time to keep internal air parts oiled up or is this a bad thing? I make sure the tank is screwed in all the way.
Thanks

950 psi...that is what the green zone is on the gauge for.

My standard setting is just inside the green zone on the regulator which is about 700 psi. The green zone goes from 700-900 psi. However I have heard of people setting their stock guns lower than 700 psi. I am not talking about trying to go low pressure. I think you might have to use a different spring though. Also at ambient temperature which is about 25 C or 77F the pressure of CO2 is around 800-850 (don't quote me on that, if you want an exact number I can give it to ya). So setting your gun at 950 psi would probably produce very inconsistant shooting esp when it was colder out.

I use nitro and there is only a +/- 5 fps difference.

ImpYa,
For some reason I thought you said you used co2. Must have been thinking of a different post sorry. But still if you use a preset nitro tank the most you can set it to is 800-850psi because that is all the pressure that is coming out of the tank. I would think with a decent regulator you would want to be below the output pressure of the tank so you don't get any shootdown.
