Use this thread to talk about scenario games. Past games, general information, alternative equipment, post pics, etc. Have a question about scenario games? Ask here! Want to know different scenarios that are played? Ask here! Have a pic of the cool tank you took out with a sticky sock bomb? Post it here! In short, if it's scenario game talk, and not about an upcoming schedule post here! (there is another sticky for schedules.)
Any thread that contains information that should be in here instead will be merged without notice.

tips: smoke is one of the best small features of a scenerio game, so save your fireworks kids
but make sure that fire works are legal at the time you use them, we don't wanna see you get busted

I would post a pic of say, my electric sock that I use to wark my Co2 tank on those cold snowy mornings, but I bought it, and haven't really had a cold, snowy day here in North Texas to play yet. :|

I was in Aberdeen MD from 17 Nov 1995 to 3 March 1996! I was in AIT (Army) and went to sleep one night on the first floor of the barracks with about 6" of snow on the ground, and was shaken awake at 0230 to shovel snow. I could not see out of the window! They were saying it was one of the biggest snowstorms in 60 years, and the whole base closed for a week. I kinda enjoyed it, since we never get much snow in Dallas. However, with 4-6 feet of snow, it would have made it a little hard to play paintball.

What do tanks and laws and mortars fire anyway? just really big paintballs or regular sized ones? I have never played a scenario game so i dont know, but me and a few friends are hoping to go to one most likely D-Day where there are a ton of tanks. Which side is ussually the underdog there and why btw?

I've been waiting for my subscription since August 2003. I won a subscription at a Dollack game in NY. I mailed it in with payment to extend my subscription even longer. I've sent multiple emails to editor@scenarionews.com, billing@scenarionews.com, & sales@scenarionews.com. As of the date/time of this post, I have not heard anything from Scenario news. If anyone knows anything or could assist me, it would be greatly appreciated!

They generally can fire either. You can get a "artillary" shell which is basically a rubber tube filled with paint with a loose cardboard sleeve on the outside. If you want a "shotgun" affect, Fill with loose paintballs and the put in a piece of foam that is tied to the mortar/laws. The foam keeps the balls in while not causing damage when it's fired. Opsgear actually makes a nerf-type rocket which is soaked in paint & fired from your shoulder.
Go to http://www.paintballcombat.net/ http://www.paintballmines.com/ http://www.opsgear.com/ or http://www.englerpaintballguns.com/ to check out some pictures of both the equipment as well as the ammo.

You know what would be totally old school if people didn't cheat? A battle where 50 people line up 30 feet away on a totaly flat field and get 100 shots and can only shoot once every ten seconds (sorta like some old fashioned battle.)
Oops this was already posted in another thread my bad.

Tans usually have whats called a KILL BOX. which is usually on the hood of the tank. The tank will be shut off. (The kill box is like an engine cut off) So yes anyone can take out a tank. Tanks are usually used for missions in the scenario game.
A scenario game is a long game with a plot. There are different ways to when (taking out forts, capturing special people, finding things, etc.). A lot of the time they are based on movies, wars, and other events. It uses many missions to get your side points.
I've never been to one, this is just what i got from APG. so if anyone has anything else.
Peace:)

Oklahoma D-Day used to require 'Kill boxes' but that was then and
this is now. Today they have you affix a target which varies in
size based on the amount of armor your vehicle has to each side,
as well as the back and front. Smaller target up (thicker armor)
front and larger ones on side and rear.

I live in Salta city, Northern Argentina. itīs always been a popular tourist destination, but in the last couple of years people here began to see the true potential of the lanscape.
the second biggest game in the country (so the organizers say) is to take place in this place, Campo Belgrano, officially Army property (they didnt seem to be using it, so they didnīt mind renting it out to 150+ green men playing war. they didnīt seem to mind us asking about using some of their older vehicles either, for a price)
The main thing about this game, is that itīs being backed and subsidised by the government, considered a big step forward for the sport.

That's cool that Argentina seems to be backing scenario/big game play! The weird thing is that some of your pictures look eerily like some of our playing fields up here in Ohio!

It's not to early to start signing up for The Annual
Oklahoma D-Day again. THis year the main event
falls on June 12th, but players will start taking part
in daily min-scenarios almost a week before that.
For more details just click on the link or drop me a
note, or give my office a call.
http://www.oklahomadday.com
All told we're expecting around 3,000+ players, plus
they've added a new beach landing area, as well as
some new trenches. That'll mean you'll have about
700 acres to take if you've joined the Allies and
that much territory to defend if you join the Germans.
Sincerely,
Brigadier General Andy Van Der Plaats
