is the a-5 a good gun

i was wondering if the a-5 was worth the money cuz i dont want to buy a $270 gun and it be a pice of crap can any of u tell me if u own 1 if it is worth the money and i have herd if it is shot in the hopper if it will crack.

Yes, the A-5 kicks major A/SS. Light trigger pull, VERY fast, and A whole lotta upgrades coming out very fast.

I have an A-5 and am loving it. I have used many guns over the past 8 years of playing and this one has been the most fun. Its no angel, its no tricked cocker, but it is a fantastic marker for the money (mine was $289). I use the A-5 with an F/X Sniper Stock, a LAPCO 7.5" BigShot and 20 ounce on-gun/remote tank.

oh yes, because the a-5 is so much more likely to go down than a cocker,

the cyclone feed is a great hopper, its one real downfall is the flat front, but i'm sure that someone will come out with a new top.

and an impulse is better then them all;) hehe, but really screw a-5's you could get a 98c with a warp that would feed just as good, also the 98c is well i say better designed, the a-5 has hardely any upgrades, also it has a short tigger pull but its a little heavy, humm what else, you need ot buy anadapter to use drops, no 2x trigger, terriabl stock barrel(what did u expect from tippmann a boomstick)anyways save up alittle more money and get a impy if you want reliablity then you need to save up for an angel or timmmy, i hate cockers have one now but its goign on ebay once i get a tune up for it, oooo yea mags, they have great upgrades very reliable best regulator next top sidewinders and maxflos, get a mag

The pull is longer than the 98 custom, but lighter.
98 custom's dont come with two finger triggers either.
A-5's are just as reliable as 98's.

well....if your revvy goes down you can borrow a regular hopper....what if the cyclone goes down....you cant switch on a hopper....and cockers go down no more than any other markers......only people who dont understand them mess them up:eyes:

I can't think of any reason the cyclone would go down, excpet for a faulty air setup or if the clyclone is smashed or something.

what if you trip forward and hit it on a tree or rock, it will break, you really think the a-5 pull is longer tehn the 98c humm..i dont think it...why do people want a-5's i did at a time, because i thought the cyclone was soooo cool, but with it isnt, its like mounting a halob on a 98c, also they say a-5's are geared towards rec players, so what so you cant use an impulse in a rec game, is that against the rules? Try cockers and impulses, i tried cockers, impulses, mags, a-5, tricked 98c, shockers everything under the sun, and i picked a cocker, well little say the cocker is going to be gone (once it gets back from the shop and put on ebay). Little to say i have been going angel and impy, i picked a impy( a project rat), first they are fast, just as fast as an angel. Also impulses run great on co2. Angels must have nitro, but i can run my impulses on co2 no problems, so yea.

Yes, I REALLY think the pull is longer then the 98. I'll measure, if you wish.

I would want an A-5 if my freind didn't own one. I guess I just like them so much because of how my freind's performs, I guess. It's REALLY fast (The ref thought I was using full auto) and really accurate.

Dude, have you ever used anything besides a Talon? Obviously not. Pretty much ALL guns (Brass Eagle pumps are just not worthy) have velocity adjustment, weather it be through regulators or on-gun velocity adjustment. There's a reason that chrono's exist, and it's sure as hell not to measure bps. And believe me, no gun could go 283 bps, no matter how good it is. And you thought a tippman could do it. LOL! If you can't say anything with a shred of intelligence in it, don't say anything at all. Just cause you own a Talon (I don't know why you are, let alone putting it in your sig) does not make you an all-knowing paintball god (and no I'm not claiming to be).

Ok, ranger. To honestly stop you from going from 1 thread to another talking about 283 bps, which is impossible, im going to tell you that chronos tell you how fast the ball is shooting. Not even real guns can accomplish 283 shots in one second. Chain guns have a top speed of firing 30 bullets a second, and those are the fastest repeating actions in the world.
Now to the subject of the A-5... it is a good gun, and can shoot relatively fast for a semi auto, but personally i would just get a 98c and put a lil work to it. I like my 98c bettter than my friends A-5 because my upgrades outdo his gun, and i seem to do better on the same tank of C02 than he does. In that price range for a gun I would definately look toward cockers or mags. I suggest you try out some nice mags and compare them to the a-5 to make ure decision. u really cant go wrong with any of the guns discussed neways. Well thats just my opinion, and you have your own to make my friend. Just try alot of different things first so you can have the facts for a good opinion.

My A-5 also shoots over 200 BALLS per second... The US Army has approached me about mounting it on the front of the Apache attack helicopter in place of the really slow Vulcan cannon system that they are using now. he-he:rolleyes: But really... I have an A-5 with the r/t and it works really well. If you can find a used one that is under $220 i think that it is worth buying. I understand that there is going to be an electronic grip for the A-5 soon. Anyone else hear this?
