How many of you were afraid to get hit by a paintball the first time u played, or still are.

The first time i played i wasn't cause i didn't know what the felt like. I was surprised how much they stung.

I was a little jittery my first game, then I got hit. I haven't been afraid of them since.
BTW man, if you want to play the sport seriously, your going to need a much better gun. Stay way from brass eagle.

I was scared of getting hit prolly my first 3 times. My first time I was REALLY scared. We have metal drums at my field so when a paintball hits that it sounds like a gunshot. I would be like hyperventalating (sp?) and just scared to move lol. Now i enjoy getting hit :) i usually rush to the fifty i like the adrenilan rush. Only prob is I have been hit in the back of the head by my own team! GOD do those hurt!!!!

First time i played i didn't have glasses and without them i can see about 6 inches in front of me befor it gets blurry(contacts rule) but back on topic anded up charging charged 3-6 guys by myself and i got shot up good. I wore a camo jaket and the first shot went inside the sleave and broke on my forarm. So far i have earned 3 and recived one purple heart, Yes at my field when you get shot and bleed you get a purple heart pin that says "splatered in action" which doesn't make much sence but whatever. I now play in a black wife beater and camo pants, but i a thinking about just wearing overalls w/o a shirt.

I loved my first time I got hit it was hilarious, because I didn't even start and my mask fogged up and as I was running through the woods blindly I got shot in both my nipples, but they didn't break same thing happened a bit later to my knee caps, that didn't break either

my first game i was semi retarde.. i didnt think they were gona hurt... so when i got hit i was like "ow" what was that......

now,, Im not afraid anymore....

I like racing people down the field, it's fun, Im gona start doing that more.......... it's really funny when you get within 20 feet and they realize your coming at them, and your on the other team and there all like ohhhhh $%*& ...... it's good times.. (in woods ball)

in speedball i learned my lesson for charging up the field when i played 2 vs. 1 (me 1) and they had an orracle and a 2k cocker and I had a rental cuz my gun broke down :( I got Picasoed

first time i got shot was from a ref who played a game and he nailed me from 4 feet away whilst i was surrendering... I have a small scar. i had a pretty nasty cut though.

I was so fricken scared for a few months... but then we played outlaw with my friend and i regained some confidence.

i think everyone is a LITTLE scared their first time, cuz i know i was.

but once you take a few hits you start to get used to the stingage and you can enjoy the game more

I dunno... the first time I played I wasn't really that scared at all because I play football and I wrestle and I figured it wouldn't hurt more than either of those.... then I got shot in the nuts.... I LOVE PAINTBALL!!!... Anyways, it happend cuz I was playing woodsball and just ran out in an opening and started firing like mad (at what ended up being a squirrel...) and just got plastered completely.
I just started yelling "OKAY!! HIT HIT!!" so I started walking off the field wiping off the excessive paint dribbling down my arse then I hear "HEY!! HE JUST WIPED!" *fwap fwap fwap fwap fwap* and I keep getting hit again, so I yelled "DAMMIT!! STOP! MOM ALWAYS TOLD ME TO WIPE WHEN I GOT MESSY!!!!" and dashed off the field....

I think my team ended up winning because the other guys were laughing so hard... long story short, don't wipe your butt when people are watching

The first time I played I wasnt scared at all because i had never been hit before, We were playing 5-5 and and I charged all of them shooting everywhere(I was playing against pros), i got shot atleast 25 times. Ouch did it hurt, but i havent been scared since...

I'm not afraid to get hit but I always seem to battle the fear of failure/performance anxiety.

In speedball, I am usually the guy who pulls glory boy moves and bunkers a lot but I can't think or I lose my edge and hesitate. I practice a lot at home so things come more naturally and I don't need to weigh risks or anything.

I don't know. I would like to have no fear and be able to really get into the game on another level but I'm not sure how I can do that and still follow my instincts.

My first game was so very sad. Me and like 3 of my friends were hiding in this little bunker in the way back (yes, I was a wuss) and I got shot by my own team in the leg by mistake =P. After the first maybe half dozen games, you get used to the sting, and then its just smooth sailing :D

I was scared to get hit my first time, because we took some practice shots, and those balls were going pretty damn fast. It was on Christmas day, the day i got my crappy VL Genesis. It was me, my sister, and my neighbor. but the first game was just me and my sis, and i stood in the same tree the whole game waiting for her to come out somewhere, the i saw her crawling, so I shot her like 2 times, they both hit her stomach. Next game, i wasn't as scared cuz i was more confident. So I ran to a tree, but my shoulder was sticking out, and my sis hit me in my shoulder on my right arm, i just yelled "owwww, im hit, im hit!!!!" and everyone was laughing(the entire group of neighborhood kids had came to watch, ages from 7-18). then after that i got more confident, and it hurt less cuz i got used to it. Then i finally went to my local field, and played good. But there isn't a time when im about to play where those butterflies kick in, but once that ref yells "go, go, go" those butterflies disappear.

Pros? uh, you sure bout that? the pro level is waaay up there and very hard to get to, they probably were rookies (which is still damn good) or less.

Was I nervous the first time I played ball? Who wasn't, of course I was.

Do I get scared now? Yes and No, normaly I am not scared, it doesn't hurt that bad to get zinged (although the one I got on my neck earlier today is sore right now). It's part of the game and that is what helps make it fun. If it didn't hurt you would have guys that just run up the middle all the time every time. I mean it hurts enough to keep you from being stupid but not enough to keep you from playing.

The "Yes" part, when I get seriously out numbered it freaks me out for the minute or two that it takes the other team to flank and bunker. Unless your a psycho I don't think ANYBODY likes to get pinned and bunkered and that is what usually happends when you out numbered like that. All you can do is hold your bunker, keep firing, slow them down, and take out a few before they get you.

i never was, and definitely am not anymore. Me and my friends made up a game 2 nights ago where we use my friends acre lot, and plant one of us out at the end of it. We normally waddle around like ducks and scream PING and turn around whenever we get hit, like one of those duck-shooting games. Occasionally, when one of my noob friends gets stuck out there, we get a S**T or F***IN S**T instead of a PING. Or sometimes we just sit in lawn chairs while reading the morning paper.
