well I have never done it but from what I understand once you have a team assembled and you seek sponsorship
the best way to figure it is how much you spend at each practice your team participates in including air paintballs and then what it will cost for all players to enter into a tournament (on average) and then start locally go around to different stores locally and ask to speak to the manager tell him or her that you are seeking sponsorship for your paintball team and make sure to be prepared as in with what you team believes in fair play a good time and hard practice and hopefully with all this winning will come blah blah blah and tell manager that you will wear a patch or logo on your jersey (of their approval) and their logo will be present whenever your are involved in an event in the publics eye in return. Then if you get good enough other sponsors will recognize you and offer you sponsorship on their own because they will see how you play and consider the investment.FURTHERMORE you had better have a good shooting gun to even consider tournament play (you don't want to get laughed off the field with your talon in hand which would make your sponsors look very bad) you may also want to make a commitment to the manager about how many tournaments you will be involved in so they know that they aren't just paying for you to play in your backyard.....

Sponsorships by big companies are extremely rare. With them they will come to the team after they start winning national tournies.

But with local companies and stores it can be easier. But it still is difficult. You have to start out my sending them a team packet. With team name, motto, years together, tournies participated in and standings, describe what you will do for them and what your team needs help with(i.e. entry fees, paint)and a player roster with how many years each player has been playing.

That is the best suggustions.

getting sponsors are VERY tough. Expect to get rejected the first few times, and try to get some expirience in tourneys before you try and get a sponsor.

How many tournies has your team been in? If it's only a few, you will probabally need quite a few tournies before any companies will evn consider you.

if ya have'nt been in a lot of tournements you could get one of your teem member's or possibly even one of your friend's parents business's to sponser you. at least with either of those you can help cover the costs and get better and someday possibly get a big company to sponsor you.

Nice!

Is it for your whole team or what?
So what did you send them or ask them?

hey TL, i didnt know u had a team- hook me up with a position. I got my own equipment and all- ill be happy to take part in team expeneces and i think i can get you a sponsor. As for image- i know ritche M and isnt opie a ref or something. Sponsorship from them would be awesome. Only thing is we all need a similar attire package.

didn't Richie break off from Image? He runs Action ZOne, a field like 20 minutes from me..Opie runs Diamond Ridge, a paintball field like 5 mintues from my house..as for tourneys..my team Arachnaphobia didn't contend too much this year..we're gonna start with the SPyder cup..hope to place well in that tourney..I might leave ARachnaphobia because soon i'll be changing my gun..and as you see...Arachnaphobia is a team with Spyders..don't underestimate us though..many have and paid for it:D...As for joining our team where do you live?

MC Escher
02-07-2001, 05:28 PM
dude- i was thinkn bout gettn that image cocker too!! until i saw the shocktech they had on display. The image cocker i believe is maryland paintballs version of the free-flow. I asked to try one and it looks exactly the same. the 2000 freeflow that is. I wanted a blu-one, they are sweet.

TLplus84
02-07-2001, 05:30 PM
they're 850 with Boomstick and Reg...as far as i know..yeah i saw the one that was on display at Opie's store..it looks mad nice

MC Escher
02-07-2001, 05:32 PM
my shocktech with a boomie and reg would have been 925- so i dropped the boomer and took a dye aluminum and no reg and i got it for 750. Now i have to decide on a n2 set up and reg combo.

Any way, you know if its not indoor play- outdoor here kinda is sucky cause of the recent weather- although tomorrow seems to be a nice day, has been cold and wet. i cant wait for better weather!

TLplus84

i have about 9 months expirience on the team...yeah..what position do you play? i usualy play floater or mid..

MC Escher
02-08-2001, 12:24 PM
the far tape- i love playing the sides. Especially during speedball i can pull a few cool moves on the far tape side. Left or right it doesnt matter, preferably left though.

MC Escher
02-08-2001, 12:26 PM
The reasoning for my preference in position is: (im trying to think like a captin would) The front players need to be small and fast. at 6'5" im not exactly small- but i hual a$$ to my bunker and i hold it pretty well. Back is an ok position, but im more aggressive to play back. tape lines are good for me.

TLplus84
02-08-2001, 04:17 PM
hahah i am just a little under 5'8, and i can tuck in like no other :D that's why i usually play either drifter or front, although if i do play front, i'm kinda slow...that's why i usually play the drifter.

MC Escher
02-08-2001, 05:00 PM
well, looks like we could a have a good selection of people for team play. A wide array of physical skill and paintball playing style help constitute a good team- so not every one is too "what ever" and fights all the time to get the position he wants.
When i play the tape- i haul on the start and settle in for defense- then i advance bunker by bunker- short distances (no long runs) to mid field or so and then when we have a stable overall position, then i make the longer dashes toward the nme side. but one thing to remember, you nor I can go in with a set stradegy like football, you gotta play according to the moment in pb. Thats the way i like to think it.

TLplus84
02-08-2001, 05:02 PM
yep..although i don't travel around as much as i should..:P i need to practice..

MC Escher
02-08-2001, 05:04 PM
i hear ya, after a time with out playing (winter= no good outdoor playing time) i really need to get back into the paintball "swing." Amen to practice!!

TLplus84
02-08-2001, 05:06 PM
yeah Action ZOne isn't a great place to practice for tourneys unless you play in that middle part and keep out of the houses..they give too much protection..it's unrealistic in tournament views.
