I wanto start up a site selling paintball parts. Can somebody give me some information on paintball dealerships and how to get them? I am specifically interested in selling autocockers and autococker parts. Also to get parts at wholesale do I need to contact each company individually or can I get em all at once? Also if anybody here works for places that can give me a dealership send me a private message. Thanks!!

you need a tax id # and buisiness license
then the proper local permit
then you can go about applying for dealer accounts from major distros
or solicit each indavidual mfg.
99% have minimums and payment terms, credit checks etc.
next except for the major websites a considerable amount
of mfg's have stopped selling to people that do not have a retail store front

ok im sorry but i would NEVER buy from anyone who a) doesnt know how to get a supplier for parts they are selling or B) doesnt know the process of setting up a business..
not knowing WHO to go to is one thing.. not knowing HOW to do it is another..
in all honusty splatter is about as close to the truth as you get =o)
I have 3 suppliers for cost parts.. 2 work on consignment, 1 specialises in hard to find 'when the other guys out" parts and they are a COD method only. aside from that how do you expect to take money for these parts? do you have a merchant account setup? able to deposit visa/amex/mc drops? or were you just looking for a cheap place to buy parts for your gun you paid to much for =o)

Whoa telnets take a chill pill. My cousin just got a dealership with system x and he's only 16. So can it be that difficult? I highly doubt it. By minimums you mean I'd have to pay them so much so often or they would stop it?
Not buying from somebody who doesn't know how to setup a business? Ok thats your choice I don't really care about your personal business anyways.
And autocockers 0wn anything tipmann has so shut it.

buy minimums he means that there is a min purchase you have to make....say like $500 before they will ship yer stuff to ya....and by the way...you may want to higher a new pr person...cuz you need to get people skills if you are planning on selling anything to anybody....you get a bad rep on here and it will grow fast...

<sigh>
So now not only have I ruined my companies pr but I have also started a fan club for complaints against autocockers? Hoy Vey
I think my first victim (aka dealership) will be KAPP. I don't know if they have minimums or not though. They say I need a tax id, a business license, and the "proper local permit". How do I get these things? Thanks

so what if it's old technology? Bud orr got it right the first time so why should he design a whole new gun?
And slow? with a hinge trigger and a good 3 -way the trigger pull can be made close to that of an electro. Also most people can't shoot more than 9bps on any trigger without fanning or walking.
cockers are as good a gun as any. So they're not your cup of tea. that's no reason to say they suck. they're just not right for you.

look in your phone book and call the city hall
they will tell you were to get the permits, were to pay for a license and were to sign up fo a tax id
wich means you will have to report directly to the IRS,i hope you have good accounting skills
and sorry but unless you have a chunk of $$ this is all out of the question
By minimums you mean I'd have to pay them so much so often or they would stop it?
no you have to pay a initial amount to get a dealership and start ordering (JT is 1,500.00) companies do this to make sure your not just a kid trying to buy a few parts for him and his friends an wasting thier time
also terms, your going to be on C.O.D to start most likley and will need a merchant bank account,or other way of getting certified checks ,it is 99% the only way these companies will accept payment other than major verified credit card
autocockers are a hype, use old technolgy, slow, prone to leaks, and are well really slow
uh you win for the most retarded post of the week

Crap! $$ would definatly be a problem. How much cash do you estimate I would need? I've only got like $70 and I'm guessing thats just pennies. I wasn't aware that to get a dealership I needed a business license ect...
Seems like a tough thing... running a paintball store... maybe I'll save up to own one once I get a job. Thanks for your help guys.

hahaha
or that suppliers will just go, oh you want cost on all out equipment, ok, no need for any licence we will just take your word for it =o)
Yes the first thing you need is a buisness licence for mailorder or retail.. seccondof all you PROBABLY need a licence for selling "firearms" which fall under "anything which may shoot a projectile more then 150fps" which here in canada i had to to be able to legaly sell them. after that Tax number.. you gotta pay your taxes hey.. after that, merchant accounts.. yes, you need to accept thoes visa/mc numbers.. and your right 70 bux is maybe 1/10th what you need to get it all done.. not to mention renewing it all next year.
As for the tippmanm vs autococker.. im not going into the debate.. if they sucked so much they wouldnt be one of the most popular and maintanance free guns in the sport. thats just a fact.
Yes.. please get a job =o)

You could always get a buisness loan,
Never give up on an idea because someone gives you gruff. You never know they might have gotten screwed over or they might just be mentally imbalanced. Of course you will have to do research and you really should have a business plan, but no one can tell you your idea will not work. At least you could call up your potential distributors/manufacturers and decide for yourself if you want/can take the risk.
You can get KAPP's dealer application right off their website, I know PMI used to have a $2500 first buy minimum, and I know Paintbal Inc. used to have a lower one.

well for one thing sure cockers with a good three way and hinge can keep up but thats 100 bucks in upgrades, when electros you dont need any upgrades, also a great deature in electros is the short light trigger pull, so you can fan them and fire 10+ bps

yeah you say you can take me on with your cocker, yet do it from behind your computer..
if you want to prove something come to my field.. if not.. then your opinion on your gun is your own and is not shared

note i used the wprd "retarded" in my post,i felt it fit with your avatar
and im sorry i can deny prone to leaks,i dont have any cockers that leak, nor have i had any in the past
a lotus w/race is just about 1,100
or set up a cocker correctly with somthing like a kapp reflex or eclipse blade and it will keep up with most electros

I tried to find a paintball field named, "your field" but I couldn't find any. I found york field and pour field but no "your field". A little more info...
and PS - the only place you would have a chance at beating me is on your home turf.
