i was at a local outdoor field on saturday and talking to a guy there who said he plays in tourneys. i am asked him about what guns would be good for me to get since i want to play in tourneys this summer. i thought it was odd that he acted like he knew EVERY thing and he was shooting an inferno (A STOCK ONE!) i asked if a bushie would be good for tourney play and he said that it wouldnt even be competetion to other guns. he said cockers shot 11-12 bps (in my head im thinkin this guy is INSANE!, but i remaned polite and didnt want to say anything) then he said other guns like angels were shootin 16-17 bps (now im thinkin does this guy know what a BALL PER SECOND IS?) he said cockers are too confusing to do any of the work your self everthing has to be done by a shop. . .
for the most part i thought guy was on crack when he was talkin about the speed of the guns because only semi is allowed in tourneys, right?
but i wanted to know if a bushmaster would be good enough for a tourney? would i be better off with a cocker or shocker?
Bushmasters are great guns. I don't know about a cocker shooting 11-12 balls per second it may be possible. My friend has a bushy and he is a great tourney player. I would go with whatever you like to shoot the most.

A bushy is a great marker for tournaments. It is rare to see a cocker with that rate of fire. very difficult to achieve. But regardless. A bushmaster will hold its own against other pb markers.
Cockers are great as well. The difference between the 2 is the cocker is a pneumatic and the bushy is an electropneumatic. Both markers are great tournment markers. It is not semis only. The rule usually is that you cannot use the F/A modes on the electric markers.
So take your pick.

well of all i own a cocker and i can get 8 balls per sec and ive only had it for about 2 months so im sure the pros can do 11and yes bushys are very good guns im gonna get one for my back up but the cockers are not hard to take care of i do all my work by myself so i think you should get a cocker but bushys are good to (maybe consider a timmy)

i think its 13. for the spyder cup the em1s had to be set at 8.something

That sounds about right because a spyder without a trigger job can only shoot 7-9 balls a sec tops.

definitely go with what you feel the most comfortable. its important to be able to shoot pretty fast, and if you can shoot fast with a cocker, go for it.

He said that he doesn't want a mag, and Shockers are too big. Not mags and shockers are too big.
