I noticed that the edges on the tip of my stock bolt are SHARP! My Imp has been breaking quite a bit of paint lately, do you think that could be a factor? The edges on my friends stock bolt aren't nearly as sharp, does this happen as the bolt gets used? Cause, my imp and bolt have been used a lot and are quite old.

that could be the problem of your ball breakage, also why not just get a delrin bolt? they are much better imo. also, the reason your bolt might be sharp is because your not lubing it correctly and you friend is, just get a delrin and all your problems will dissapear

The paintball shouldn't actually come in contact with the bolt until it enters the breech. Even if it didnt feed properly the force of any bolt going forward would be enough to chop the ball.
It could be the batteries in your hopper, your pressure output, or you may have fragile/bad paint.

The bolt should not be sharp in any way, and it's a near certainty that that's why you're breakin balls (pretty much any time you're breakin balls with an Impy there's a problem of some kind). You should probably just get a derlin bolt and stainless hammer, then you can improve the preformance of your gun. It'd probably be alot easier than trying to fix the stock bolt.

Yeah I plan on getting a delrin bolt, I don't enough money just yet.
I have been lubing it religiously, but I bought the imp used and the previous owner might not have.
Thanks for the help.

Be sure to save enough for a stainless hammer too. Derlin bolts are too light (at least mine was) to be used with the stock aluminum hammer.
