I just played my first paintball game last Sunday, and LOVED it. The gun I bought was a Spyder Com2k. I kinda want a better gun, and my friends want to buy guns, so I could probably sell my gun for like, new price. My question is, would it be better to buy a new SE, or upgrade my Com with a new barrel, x chamber, and bottomline. I buy from my local pb guy, and what he has in stock now that I would get is some kind of Bob Long X chamber, Terminator barrel, and a Spyder compatible BL. What would you recommend ? Thanks.

no go for the Comp 2000. It will be less money to upgrade, you'll get a better x chamber and barrel and bottomline. It's a better value.

I totally agree with TL on this one.

you want anodizing? go to Sin Customs and get a KICKING paint job for maybe 40 bucks..I still woudlnt' go with the SE because there is no trigger gaurd, stock barrel isn't too good, and there is no verical adapter.

Keep your compact 2K and upgrade it with a regulator, new barrel, new valve, enlarge the holes of your vert. adapter to 3/16" and remove the venturi insert of the bolt. Polish your internals. Now you have a low pressure very accurate compact 2K for the same price than a SE. A good reg is also 10 times better to keep co2 out of the gun than an expansion chamber. UPGRADE THE COMPACT!!!

actually toiletsiphon..a reg is not better than an x chamber at keeping liquid Co2 out of the gun. An X chamber has more expansion properties inside, thus the name Expansion Chamber. A reg, however, is better than an X chamber in almost all ways. Although it is not better than an X chamber at keeping liquid Co2 out, it will expand the liquid into gas form a little. Also, the reguator will stabalize the air flow, so no more spikes.

The new SE's come w/ a trigger guard and vertical adapter. But I'll agree the stock barrel does suck.....If you not going to do too much to your gun like just get a new barrel and bolt or something get the SE...But if your going to go LP and stuff and get drop forwards and jack it out get the compact...cuz the extra $$ you paid for the x chamber and the hard line will go to waste....I learned the hard way...

A damn fool

Actually, a reg and a tank with an antisiphon tube is supposed to keep liquid out just as well, but u still get the added benefit of regulationg how much air u shoot. Upgrade the compact, itll be cheaper, and itll look better. And i fu really want the anodizing, go to the sin sight, thewy can do some kick *** paint jobs, im working on getting one myself.

Just get a Spyder TL Plus. Cheaper than an SE, has a couple more features than a Compact 2000, and the barrel is pretty decent. If ur not taking this gun into consideration, id say upgrade the compact 2000. U can always sell the compact 2000 u have now and buy a java one online for the same price as a regular compact 2000. Red color is pretty nice, go to http://www.bbtpaintball.com

I personally think that you should stay w/ your gun and upgrade it, i personally would get an antisiphon tank and then get a regulator like the PMI pure energy

getting the TL pLus is pointless if you alreacdy have the Comp. 2000. IF you upgrade, you'll jsut get rid of the crappy Xpansion chamber like i did. Also, the comp 2k is just as good. Just add a reg and bottom line, and you'll be set. Get a Pure Energy Reg and antisiphon like predator sed...I agree wit him on that one.

Sorry for the newbie question, but what exactly are regs and anti-siphons ? What do they do and what part are they on the gun ? Does a reg go int the same place as an x chamber and act as a grip ? What is the difference ? Also, how much will this cost ? The barrel that I am buying costs $40, I think.

Do a search.

There are allready several posts about regs and anti siphon tubes.

A regulator is sorta like an expansion chamber, except it regulates how much air will go into the gun. The reg can be set by limiting the PSI that goes into the gun. they range from the PMI Pure Energy reg(40 bux) to the ANS reg(120 bux). It all depends on what you want. A reg is the most important part of going low pressure, also.

An anti siphon tube is a tube that is put in your co2 tank a certain way so taht no liquid CO2 can leave the tank. That helps keep liquid Co2 out of your gun, helping prevent your internals/reg from freezing up.

Well, I didn't really want any major upgrades yet, other than a barrel. I just want a better foregrip than the tank, but not a useless gas-thru grip. I'm kind of trying to save my money. For the C2k, it would be $40 for the barrel, $25 for BL, and $40 for a reg, coming to $105. Somebody said it would be cheaper to upgrade than to buy an SE ? I could upgrade to an SE for about $80. A barrel is probably the only upgrade I'd do to that in the near future. Plus If I wanted the anodizing, that's another $40. Is it still better to do the C2k ? What is bad about the SE, other than the barrel ? All the reviews give it good scores.

If i were you i would just stick to the gun you have and upgrade it. You can get some nice barrels for $50 ( look at the reviews ) and i would defenetily go w/ the PMI Pure Energy Reg. b/c thats much better than the x chamber and the anti-siphon tank will do the job of the x chamber. If you don't want to spend the 50.00 for a new tank w/ on/off switch... go to 888paintball.com and there is a anti-siphon adapter that costs 10 bucks and you just bring it to an airsmith and get it installed

I just noticed that you use an SE, albeit heavily tricked :D
