get a new barrel first. Then get a new bolt, a regulator, a drop forward and new trigger frame.

Barrel, and some extra ball detents (little plastic thingy)
and watch out for the cocker pin getting lost after about 3-4 cases of balls going thru the thing.
All that other stuff just a bunch of BS to give guys some nuttz on the field.

Really?
I disagree.
They may not do MUCH, but they do improve your gun, little, by little.
In order of most needed to least needed, here they are:
1. Full Spare parts kit ( your gun doesn't work if all the parts aren't in it, now does it?)
2. Barrel ( anything but that alluminum pipe that comes on it!)
3. Reg ( Only if you want to go LP)
4. Bottom line and drop 4wrd ( allows great center of ballance, a must for accuracy!)
5. N2 tank ( The ULTIMATE accuracy add-on)
6. Revi ( a 9-volt will keep up with ANY non-electro spyder)
7. Bolt ( the AKA lightning bolt if you go LP)
8. Turbo Valve ( great for LP guns)
9. Low pressure springs (something like the shocktech one, low pressure srings allow your gun to do more, with less gas)
10. Trigger frame or trigger job ( Get a trigger frame if your vain, or get a trigger job if you just want the performance)
11. Bod Mods ( Only if your totally vain about your gun, otherwise, you don't need these!)
These are my favorite Upgrades for a new spyder,

Shoot, with all that, he could just trade it in for a cocker. ;)

Hey with the stuff i did to my SPyder i could've bought a cocker..but i really like spyders so i decided to hook mine up..and now i can keep up with all sorts of guns...it's really personal preference really..
Yeah, its one thing to go out and buy a sweet (expensive) new gun and not need to do anything to it, but to buy something like a Spyder, and upgrade it all yourself into a great gun that competes with the expensive gun, would give you a real sense of achievement, and the gun is a one-of-a-kind, personalized just how you want it.

Not really but that is a very good statement!
to build your own gun gives you more confidense and self esteem when playing with it.

i can keep up with the cockers and the mags..and it does give me a sense of security. I know everything in my gun that is stock and/or customized backwards and front.
