i read somewhere on this forum, not sure where, but that the draguns are low pressure...is this true? then can i run a 68/45 tank preset at 450 psi?

im not so sure about that. they r just cool lookin spyders, (IMO), with electro frames. last time i checked, spyders run at around 800psi. u can get a LP kit and make it LP, but there is no point in doin that. on some guns, LP can worsen effeicency. higher pressure=lower volume, lower pessure=higher volume, which is usually worse efficiency. go here (http://www.automags.org/resource/tech/tomstech/01_barrel_eff.shtml) and in the second paragraph, it shows u y LP guns r a myth.
so, in answer to ur question, no, a preset 450psi wouldnt work.

my dragun basic came stock out of the box runing at 500 psi shooting 270fps.now that is pretty damn good for a stock blow back

Really?... Can anyone back this guys claim up? That is pretty good for a stock blow back, ya... It's not really "Low Pressure" by my standards, but not bad... and yes, Lower Pressure is not always better efficiency...

Yes, I can back this up; they run stock around 500-600psi and run quite well too but they are still loud and have recoil (normal for a blowback). The trigger is the nicest I've ever shot (maybe just because I'm used to it but I've shot a bunch of high end electros and I can rip faster on this than any of them).
However a 450psi tank will NEVER work, even an upgraded cocker won't be able to handle it very easily. That tank is basically just for impulses, shockers, etc. Anything that runs below 200psi, not at 500psi.
Btw, they come with regulators so just get a 800psi tank and it will regulate down to 500 for you.

I've gotten my Xtra to recock at about 525 psi. It started to sputter at 500. I don't think you could reliably run Dragun at 550-600 psi just because the regs on them are very bad and don't recharge fast enough. Still impressive that you can get it to recock that low.

Actually the reg read 550 about (less after shooting a lot...pressure drop-off) and I never, ever double fired or failed to recock even outshooting my 12v revvy (I was shooting over 10bps, maybe 12-13). The gauge may have been off by like 100psi or something, though but I was very impressed nonetheless.
