I currently own an automag and am looking to buy a phantom. Im mainly making this change to be a sniper for my group. I was wondering if the phantom shoots harder then a semi, and would take someone out in one shot. I play in the woods and we just give up when we had enough so would i be able to take someone out in one shot? Thx- Evan

No gun shoots harder than another. If a ball leaves the barel at 289 from one gun and a ball leaves the barrel of anther gun also shooting 289 they will hit the same.

If you play that broken paint on you doesn't count as an elimination, then no, the phantom isn't for you. Your opponent isn't going to start bawling after you hit him, especially if he's used to being peppered by your Automag. It sounds to me like an accident waiting to happen, and I'd hate for the Phantom's name to be associated with it. If I misinterpreted your post, I apologize, but that is certainly how it came off.

Phantoms don't naturally shoot any harder. I would never do this... but if you play with 12g CO2 cartridges you can get your phantom to shoot really hard (and hot) by warming up the 12g cartridge before you use it. Take a chemical heater (one of those packets that you put in your mittens when you go skiing) and tape it around a 12g. After you chrono, go on the field and put in your supernaturally hot 12g and your velocity will spike way, way up.

You'll take the bark off of trees! How about that!

Goggles? smashed to pieces.
Welts? huge, raised welts ringed with a big blood blister.
And by the time anyone notices you'll have swapped in a normal 12g!

you can thank me later,

PS: I use HP nitrogen and I hope I never play with you

Hehe. If you want to inflict pain, you could also consider shooting rocks with a slingshot, or perhaps using a BB gun. Assuming you don't play with a chronograph, why not just shoot each other from point blank to test it. If it breaks a finger, but not a rib, then you're good to go. Perhaps add a bayonet for your bunker runs.

I like using a 20 oz co2 tank on bottomline so that I can sneak up behind people and rifle-butt them over the back of the head. :cool:

Meanwhile at the field..

"o gawd u noob."

"What?"

"ur using a pump? what a loozer!"

"Well, we'll c."

in game..

firefights errupt ppl getting kaked left and right. it comes down to my teem with 5 guys and the other with 2. one of those 2, the cocky guy hoo thinks pumps suk. leader whispers to anti pumpist

"ok.. follow me!"

"ok.." he inches forward

outta know where ::BACHOOM:: leader gits greased

Cocky guy only one left. he inches forward then from behind him he hears..

::CLICKCLACK::

The cocky doods face drops and turns white.

He turns around slowly. there the pump player is with his gun in the doods face.

"hoo sucks now loozer?" under his mask, the pump player forms a smile.

::BACHOOM!!::

"O GAWD MOMMA!!!"

Moral of the story.. Never screw with pump players!

Doesn't matter what gun the ball comes from. Getting hit with a 289 FPS shot is still getting hit with a 289 FPS shot. If you're talking about recoil though, you can comfortably place the Phantom against your cheek and fire and it won't hurt. Very little recoil.
