For paintball to be a sport as big as baseball would be great... in some aspects. Think about it.... our fields raided with newbs... not just any newbs... the ones who cant even cock a gun.... and the departments store will sell guns at appauling prcies and our local shops will dissapear... and noone will have respect for the "originals"

This is just my opnion... think what you want... but i dont want paintball to get TOO big

my theorys on what will happen are:
a)paintball gets big. posers become rampant(similar to skateboarding). REAL players get frustrated with the image, and leave. leaving a bunch of people with all talk and no game. the surge of newcomers and stupid people alike gives a huge jump in paintbal related injuries. controversy brews.
b)paintball will be a hardcore community. not big, but enough. basicly the same as now, but with paint prices lowering every once and a while.

I don't think that will happen anytime soon due to the insane prices we put up with:|

all i think is keep everything the way it is with both x ball and regular format, get more people watching the games with sponosors like pepsi and stuff to put it on tv, and lower prices.

Standard barrel threads? Why not standard bore sizes instead?

And I don't think paintball will ever get too big. There are far too many Politically Correct anti-gun lobbiers too stop the sport from ever breaking through. I see that as a good thing. Keep paintball troo and kvlt. Long live the underground!

If paintball out grows it’s self like skateboarding I’ll go crazy. A recent poll showed that more kids are skateboarding than playing baseball, I can’t see that happening for paintball-to expensive. If it does get big, I would like to see it take more of an official-league sport, like baseball, basketball, and football. I don’t want to see it turn into a bunch of newbies, and companies trying to sell deodorant. That’s what happened to skateboarding, and suddenly a lot of the people that used to be devoted to it, simply stopped caring. I don’t want to stop caring.

I like where paintball is right now, but the whole skateboarding thing sounds all too familiar. You have to remember though that a lot of people see paintball as guns shooting at eachother and that's a negative aspect, especially in the media. Not only that but when i try to get some people to play with all they think about is "doesn't it hurt?" That turns them off pretty quick. :D Plus wasn't skateboarding cheap anyway? You buy a board you're done. Paintball you got all this crap to buy there's always ammunition to be bought and field fees too. But hey, watch me be wrong. :(

Oh and the more access to paintball guns at walmart/kmart means a lot more people being stupid and shooting eachother with out masks or people on the street for fun. Can't do that with skateboarding or baseball, unless you pick the board up and beat people with it, right?

no, you had to buy all the skater shirts, clothes, pants, hats, neclaces, backpacks, and start talking the slang all the while reading transworld! you cant be a true skater without being a complete poser!

I agree about people thinking it hurts because whenever I try to get some friends to play they always ask if it hurts but let me ask you this, "Doesnt it hurt to fall on your face when you go flying off a halfpipe?" That sounds like it would hurt a lot more. On the paintball evolving topic i would like to see cheaper paint prices(who wouldnt) but I really dont think that everything should be cheaper because for stuff to cost less to buy it has to cost less to make so the products will be of lower quality.

I dont want paintball to evolve into a huge sport. I like where it is right now. I mean think about it. Field's being overrun with newbs. telling people that you are a paintball player will hold no prestige anymore. There will be a bunch of brass eagle like companies coming out. The good players will get sick of it all and quit. I want it to stay how it is

But it still takes skill for tournoments, no doubt. Tournies will hold true.

Or it could be divided into what it is now. Rookie, novice, Amatuer, Pro. Which means if the sport got popular that there will always be a place for the pros like the NFL, NBA and uh baseball. A bunch of newbies can only play in the local practice fields whereas the pros will have their own private fields eh? You only play pros you'll be pro. If you only play newbies you'll be newbie. I noticed this when I played ping pong. I usually would win if I played a pro player before the intermediate player. The intermediate player would just seem to slow. But if I played that intermediate player too long, I became rusty and couldn't face off to the pro as well as I did before.

maybe if there were like a thousand more paintball making machines. that would be nice. more balls = lower prices.
