Atleast thats what my highschool thinks. I tried to get a club started by they said the liability is to high. I'm planning on talking with the principal in a few days so what should I say? Are there any facts I can bring up to get him to like paintball more?

I'm trying to start a club too. Tell him that Pball has fewer injuries than Bowling (true) and that even with the club, you would never bring a fully assembled marker on campus. And NEVER say gun.

talking to the principal might not do it, since if its going to be financed i think the board of ed needs to approve. try to set up a meeting, dress appropriatly, bring a few people, and LOTS of facts of paper, studies, and be able to answer any question. calling a local store/field owner in would help too, since u get an adult figure to promote it, and the field owner would pretty much be guarenteed most business from the school.

Explain to him that's it's just as much of a sport as Baseball or Basketball is. Really it's just a faster version of dodgeball :D.

i Hate how places are banning dodgeball and tag now. All thats going to do is make kids into little wussies so when they grow up they are going to have to face live withouth any preperation. And in fact, life is inhuman in itself.

I want to start a paintball club, but I don't know if the school would like to fund for it, even though my school's pretty damn rich ($4000 per student per year, only 2 get for free cuz scholarships). I guarantee at my school atleast 1 out of every 5 people have played paintball, and enjoyed it. Every day at school, I hear atleast one thing about paintball.

My friends and I have decided to try to create a paintball club in our high school.
The best way for a high school club to be made is to write up a proposal outlining the facts and paintball and what to expect involving game play and financial aspects. We decided that the student would supply thier own funds and the school wouldnt be stressed to support us.
Another essential part of making a club is to get a faculty member of the teaching staff to be the head leader/adviser and you and the teacher would approach the Principal and ask for permission to create a school club for social reasons.
So far I've written up a proposal and have addressed it to several teachers who I personally know have paintballed before. If all goes well, then by Spring time, King City Secondary School will have a paintball club.

What I would be interested to know is, where are these official facts and figures on the safety of paintball from? I keep seeing them reiterated all the time, but I've never actually seen these articles before? Have any of you actually seen the articles ie, do they really exist? From my experience in paintball, I'd believe it, but I still have never actually seen a solid fact from a reliable source yet.
Thanks.

Ask them what is safe about baseball? You can get hit in the head with the ball from the hitter, smash your skull. What about hockey, hit one kid he takes your head off, yeah real safe.
P.S. I used the bowling example on my friends parents to let him go p balling with us. We'll see what happens

Yes, they are legitament. They are insurance company facts that they came up with the establish insurance rates for different sports. Paintball fields actually have fairly low premiums. I have read the actual report, I'll try to find it.

Guys, insurance companies go with numbers of people who file claims. A kid twists his ankle or gets bruised, or he gets a shot to the head and requires Aspirin, all things you guys can get over the counter yes but the school has to watch that. Think of it this way: when you come home from school, do you think it looks good to have bruises? No education agency is going to like that because it looks like neglect. If you want a paintball team in school, that is fine, but the school cannot legally enforce it without express written permission from the education board of the state you reside in. If you want them to meet after school, the school should allow it (without markers/guns) and to spread flyers is legal under the 1st and 14th Amendment (the 14th says that Federal rights apply to ALL, not just in federal cases). But seriously, I feel the school is right by not allowing you guys the game during school: you're there to learn or to get a scholarship to go to college to play a sport and get an education, not to run around shooting each other.
As for dodgeball, there is nothing stopping a broken nose if the ball hits right...guess what, that's why they banend those. They were right there too.
