At my school, by the way im 14, there is a few stuck up paintballer's. One in particular is shooting a $800 dollar cocker! Of coarse he has never lifted a finger to get that cocker his parents probaly gave him it instead of an $50 dollar allowance, which he recives weekly. But i am just trying to give you an image on how stuck up he is.
Any ways, i ussaly play with my tippmann 98c with some good upgrades in my 2 acre feild where i have set up wooden pallets and greatly resembles pictures of speedball feilds in a magizine. I HAVE BEEN LABLED A POSER! why you might ask? I dont know! i am even haveing seconed thoughts about tippmann's, ( i know, im ashamed ) and i dont what to get a new gun but i also dont what to play at a feild where the total cost is arond 40 big one's. sopleez help me. i dont know what 2 do, should i get a new gun? Should i shell out the 40 bucks? or take the hazing? I would like some good come backs if i get called a poser again if any of you have gone through what i am.

Well i appreciate the time you have took the time to read my shpeel.

hmmmmm.... Id say take his cocker and disattach (<---word?)some small part on it, possibly the hose on the 3 way (i dont know cockers so i wouldnt know if that would do anything) but my bets are hed have no clue what to do to fix it

Why not invite a bunch of guys from your school that play over to play at your field for free and have a few games, get them all talking about how you can make your own field nad make him jealous, or just invite him right off the bat, ask him if he has any suggestions to make your field more fun. Then go with them to the pay place sometime to show that you arn't picky or whatever. But there are some people that will always be ****s, no matter what you do, or how hard you try.

Ask him if you can try his marker, he will feel high and mighty to think that little ole' you wants to use the "big boys marker"

If none of that works, go to the field he plays and whoop his *** in front of his friends :)

If they come to your place, BE RESPONSIBLE!!!

What's a POSER?

just kick his *****, take his cocker, sell it to me on EBay for 100$ and then spend the 100$ on some new upgrades for your 98.

this coment gets me really pissed off. To start im 13 and shoot a 600 dollar cocker, i paid for it, my parents diednt, i decided to get a professinal tune up before i sell it to buy my new impulse, so i walk into the store to get it, my mom with me because she said she would pay for it(a miricale). And there is these three newbies, older then me one is buying a pianha set up, and they are looking at the guns and im holding my cocker and one kid says, his mom probably paided for that. So i polietly tell him that i paid for my gun, he shuts up. I knew more about paintball then he did anyday of the week, he asked teh worker there what gun is good for 300 bucks, geez he was a noob, so just lay of kids with expensive guns, if they didnt pay for there gun so what, they have parents that will support them in everything they do, and most of the time it is just jeolusy that comes over people with cheap setups, when they see kids with really nice setups

**** that *******. Take you gun, freeze some paintballs, stick your barrel up his *** and pull the trigger. I hate preppy ***s like that who think they are all that and a bag of chips. Dont listen to what other people say cause at this age, people suck. They judge you for what you appear to be, not for who you are. I hate people

Really, all this gear envy is destructive to the sport. Ya know, I have probably 5 grand in pb guns spent over the last 14 years. I play with a tippy. I don't care what anyone else plays with (unless it's stolen - that's an *** kickin!) just as long as they show up and play hard. Know what I mean?

tony, i wasent ma d at him because he has an expensive gun wich he didnt pay for. i am pissed because i work for my money like i am sure you do also. and i have thrived for this gun and all of the upgrades to it and am very proud. and i do not think there is any thing wrong with a 13 year old shooting an expensive gun. BUT i do think there is something wrong with parents spoiling thier childer like him.

That comment is what pisses people off, not the fact that they have an ex*****ve *insert expensive object here*. What pisses them off is when the guys with the expensive toys call them newbs, call their setups "cheap" or put them down and call names. Parents supporting their kids is fine, but if they can't teach their kids not to call others names/cheap etc. then something is wrong.

Ahem. Dude, please read the forum rules. Cut the swearing out...now.

Second, cut out the abusive ideas.

Third, if I ever caught you freezing paintballs and shooting them at people, I'd personally remove your head from your shoulders. That's unsafe, and totally not cool, no matter what your "justification."

Keep that kind of crap to yourself, and off these boards. Got it? Tippmann owners are more responsible than that, as should ALL paintball players. Safety first. Keep your anger in check.

Heh sorry about the language. I must have had some sort of anger burst, which usually never happens. I would never freeze paintballs, thats just not cool. I was just kidding when I said that. Sorry for making this forum an unhapppy place =(

i guess you had to be there, these kids were talking smack the whole time, did i ever say if you have a cheap gun you are a noob, but i doubt experienced players go into a shopp and buy a lowend piranha a mask and a co2 tank, i call people newbies when they are simply new to the sport, i call people noobs when they smack talk and dont no what they aree talking about, this is my advice, if your new to the sport shut up dont say anything till you no what your talking about, i hate newbies that just say things to be cool, ask wuestion, i love when new kids ask me questions, and dont cheat, cheat is the worst thing you can do to lose any amount of respect people have for you

yea, thats cool, but dont diss kids just because they have high end setups, learn where they get that setup from first(parents, earned them selves) before you diss um

tonysk83 at the tender age of 13 what did you do to earn the $600 for your cocker?? Don't tell me you do chores around the house or cut the lawn or that you used your birthday money because if either is true than your parents DID buy you that gun and your too jaded to realize it. I'm a parent. I know the deal...

spencer_dale as for who the poser really is? I vote for the brat started calling you that in the first place. He's the tourny wannabe with the fancy cocker. Many kids I've seen think if they have no game then they just need to but a super high end gun and instantly become a tourny player. Wanna be a great paint baller?? Go get a pump and really learn some skills. I started with a Tippmann three years ago. I still use it almost every time I play. I also use an old Maverick pump. I love taking out the real posers with both!!

lol, everyone asks me this, well to start over the summer i umpired baseball games, 15 bucks a game, i earned a 150 off that, then i had 70 bucks from baby sitting, and i mowed this old guys lawn for two months, i bought it used for 300, then i have out 300 bucks into it, to get that i sold my old tippmann to a friend for 200, then the rest i got off mowing lawns while my nieghbors went to europe for 1 month, there son also mowed the next door nieghbors so i did both lawns, the only thing i havent payed for is my 12v revvy, i got it for my birthday, and i got a cheap 47 3000 psi tank from my cousin who stopped playing paintball for like 30 bucks when i first started playing, happy now, the only thing my parents have payed for is my paint one day, my field fee another, my 12v revvy, and my the shipping cost, im done here

I feel for ya Spencer, I've been in the same situation. Try not to let them get to you. It's not the gun that wins the game, it's the person behind that gun. Take every chance you get to play a game so you can gain more experiance and become better.

First off, that's sad when you have to ask people to help you insult other people! It's bad enough that you have to stoop that low in the first place, but to get people to do it for you... come on.

Forget what people say about you. There's not much you can do about it. You'll still be labeled and newbie or poser or wannabe or whatever. Why? Because this sport has people with some of THE biggest ego trips and attitude problems than any other sport in the world. Just be sure to have a bucket of salt, because I don't think one grain will due you with those people.

I will suggest being a bigger person and not retaliating with their level of arrogant stupidity. Remember the old saying... Talk a good game, play a better one.
And again, just ignore them. They are not worth your time.

Heh, in my highschool people sit around putting other people down if they don't have a fast/luxury car (of course their parents bought them their BMWs, Mustangs, and Mercedes), so I can sort of feel for ya. IMO, unless you worked for what you get, you really don't have bragging rights, and even if you did buy it yourself, you still shouldn't be bragging. Anyways, people who brag are just not happy in one way or another, and have to brag about their stuff to get their self-esteem a boost.

At any rate, maybe the Tippmann team will win the Tippmann vs The World game. Then they'd have to shut up. Reguardless of the outcome of that game, you really ought to try and find some cooler people to go play the sport with, and not pay any attention to these spoiled brats.

And why does your local field cost a total of $40? My local field is $10 admission, and with 6 guys we each chip in another $10 for a case of paint which lasts us for about 5 hours, after which we leave to go eat and talk about our favorite moments of the games we played.

dude just stick with the tippy. it isnt what they like it is what you like. one of my favorite guns was a stingray 2 i have had since the very very first day we played. that was the first paintball gun i had ever shot. i know a guy who has this civic he thinks is God's gift to car lovers. then my girlfriend has a eclipse. i have added some stuff on her car for her. And it blows him away but he want admit it. just like they wont admit you might have a better gun.I drive an old beat up pick-up. yeah they laugh at the rust. but hey who drives it me or them. I do. So here is the point for that. Who shoots your gun you or them. You do dont worry about it. Just look at him and tell him you have more important things to spend your money on. But anyways dont go out and spend $500 on a new gun just cuz someone laughs at it. Just like i wont go out and get a different car cuz everyone wants to laugh at my truck. if they dont like it then dont look at it, if you dont like it dont except a ride. Simple as that. if he doesnt like your gun then maybe he shouldnt fret about it. Ask him why he has to be all up in your jello for anyways.

Hey ya i agree. if you work hard and get the right job, you could save up 4 a cocker. This summer i made about $500 bucks cutting thistles in the hot sun in a feild. i bought my tippy with that and some up grades. The rest was spent on a whole lot of little stuf, you know can of coke here see a movie there.

ok....the model 98 is going to perform the same as a spider. and tippy v.s. the world isnt that popular...I never hear about it unless i am on the tippy forums. tippys are popular for the "sniper" or "lets go pretend we are in a war" kind of people and rec ballers. that is because it is the only intry level marker that looks like a "real gun". What i meant by "maybe he is?" was that the other guy was asking us why everyone called you a poser and i was just saying that we dont know you....you may very well be a poser and may have already quit paintball. I was not saying you are a poser i was just saying that......it is possible.

tippmann is not a ENTRY level gun. It is a medium class gun. Entry level is brass eagle stuff, pirhanas and spyders without the bottom line. if he upgraded his tippmann then it wouldnt be entry level anyway. cuz the rof on the responsive triggers is unreal. And I have heard alot on the tippmann vs the world. You obvisously dont read paintball mags cuz i have seen them in there quite a bit.

yes it is a ENTRY level marker....if u noticed most people that are new use them or spiders and they are in most peoples price range which make them a good first gun.

Let's not make this a wee-wee contest boys. You're both right. Tippmanns make good entry level guns (most beginners that do any amount of homework before they buy will buy a Tippy over a BE product), AND they make decent Intermediate guns, due to the available "upgrades."

So stop the arguing. Okey dokey? :)

Well, you call a m98 an entry level gun, but it works for me every tournement I play in, now what dont you understand about "it's not the gun, It's the person behind it" the all shoot the same, if all the guns are set at the same valosity(I cant spell)and the same paint to bore match their gonna perform alike

u forgot about consistency and kick. They affect accuracy also. Yes it will work for any level of play....But u would feel more at home on the speedball field with a angel, impy, bushy, timmy or any other high end electro. But it can take a alot of time and work to save up for one and to some people its not worth it sooo if u feel comfortable with your 98 than keep playing with it and use the money for other things like paint.

Theres a 12yr old almost 13 yr old kid that plays at my field .... he has a GZ Timmy , Angel , and Toxic Impulse. I mess around with him all the time because he told me his parents bought all of them for him , but i could care less cause hes a cool kid and if his parents got the money then lucky for him. I keep my anger to myself on the field and let it out when i get someone out or screamin off the positions of the other team =P. however i have to watch it when i play in tourneys with my team. If i were you spencer i would just play paintball with him one time , if he beats you dont be ashamed he has been playing longer , ask for tips if you want to ......if you win just tell him good game dont go crazy about it in front him keep that to yourself. if you are to get a new gun i would suggest an impulse and get a New Designz Blade trigger for it right away. Hope that helps , just remember you win some you lose some nothing to get worried about or be ashamed about paintball was made to have fun. Peace

Umm, 13 year olds working at Burger King? I just stopped reading most of these posts because isn't there a little thing called liability risk? In the state of Virginia it is illegal to hire a person under the age of 16. Knowing my jaded memory it could mean that any person(s) under the age of 16 cannot work full time and no more than 5 hours a week.

I'll admit, my Tippmann was parent funded, I'm not ashamed to say it. That was 3 years ago. I'm 17 and paided off every penny since I began working with my mother (landscaper, pretty good pay) and at my local pro-shop. I worked as a weekend landscaper for 2 years (since I was 14) and at my pro-shop since this summer (now I'm a part time weekender, frickin' school).

As much as I hate work it's something you'll always love, ya' know?

Just ignore them. Don't waste your time worrying bout what anybody thinks. Be yourself, and choose whatever gun you want to play with. It takes a lot more than a gun to be a good player. Paintball also, is about skills and tactics. Besides, I am sure with them having a high priced gun like that, they will probably quit paintball soon anyways, considering there is not way for them to go up. I think the best thing about paintball is just taking a gun, upgrading the hell out of it, and playing for the love of the game. Well, thought I'd throw my .02 worth in.
