I just got a flatline , and I have a couple of questions. First , is it normal for the adapter to wiggle back and forth slightly when you screw it all the way in? And second , does it need to be lined up absolutely perfectly to work , or can it be just slightly off? Thanks for any help yall can give me.

adapter has to be on nice and tight. should not move at all.. if it is, they you are going to chop balls like a cheap hooker gone chef.

yea, it has to be perfect, you are better off getting a different barrel, like an all american or, my favorite, a J & J... no i dont think the adapter should wiggle....

what do you mean he is better off getting an all american or j&J??? thats the dumbest thing I heard. He is only better off getting a barrel that either 1. fits his game, or 2. fits his budget, or both.
Just cause you like those two barrels doesn't mean he is better of with them. If he wanted to shoot as the flatline, could he with your two barrels? NO. I didn't think so.

jeez man, i was just saying that the flatline isnt as good... my neighbor and i both had some horrid experiences w/ flatlines... like... they suck with accuracy... badly...

did it ever occur to you, that other people have the flatlines too? and many think its an accurate barrel? so your comment on the flatline is purely opinionated. I have the flatline and I think its accurate.

Well , you see I already have the Flatline , thats why I asked if about the adapter wiggling. It doesn't come unscrewed , it just moves slightly from side to side. I stopped it from wiggling by wrapping a rubberband around where an o-ring would go if it had one , but I just wondered if there was much chance of it chopping balls?

the adapter MUST be held down tightly, IT CANNOT MOVE other wise you will chop balls

What exactly is wobbling??
If the actual adapter is wobbling try taking your gun all the way apart, setting it in, and then screwing the halves back together. That will really be a problem for you if it isn't tight, but Tippmann should replace it for free.
If the barrel is wobbling, make sure you are screwing in the screw that holds the barrel in the adapter from the correct side. Only one side has threads. I made this stupid mistake the first time I used my flatline. It sure is hard to play when your barrel comes flying out every 20 shots.

Make sure the body screws at the front grip and front sight are tight. If they are not tightened all the way the adapter can wobble a little. How long have you had the gun?? After long use the barrel threads in the body can wear slightly causing the wobble you describe. If that's the case the rubber band trick you described will do the trick, or a little teflon tape on the adapter threads. Good luck. The flatline rocks wen set up properly, just make sure you use good quality small-medium bore paint. Marbalizers work great! I have even had sucess with team colors.

Well , thre is no problem with the barrel coming out of the adapter , the wobble is with the adapter itself.
It must be the threads on the adapter , because when I screw in either my stock barrel or my tru-flight barrel , they fit nice and snug with no wobbling.
I think I'm going to talk to someone at Tippman to see if I can get a new adapter.

Tippmann toll free # 1 800 533 4831. ask for the tech dept. they will send you one for free. are you sure you have the adapter screwed all the way in and PROPERLY seated? remove the elbow feed tube and look to see if there is a gap between the gun and the adapter. they should meet flush with no gap. most of the time the adapters are super hard to screw all the way in until they seat properly at the 6 o`clock position so people just leave it there or back it out a turn to the WRONG 6 o`clock position and that lets the adapter wobble. loosening the 2 front body bolts a bit, and then screwing in the adapter until it seats properly at the 6 o`clock position, then tightening the body bolts back up usually fixes most installation problems. also, don`t forget that you will have to TUNE the flatline. once the barrel is inserted into the adapter (make sure the barrel is all the way in and seated) it has to be centered. there is a small amount of distance that the barrel will twist in the adapter. use this barrel movement to tune the barrel. you will need to shoot, adjust barrel, shoot, adjust barrel, over and over until you get it shooting straight. the lock it down, get in a game, and reach out and touch someone! the flatline is the best barrel made if you use the correct paint, and learn to shoot it. it can be accurate if installed properly. the other team always wants to know where the guy with the flatline is. damn, i can seem to stop typing!
