I'm going on a camping trip to Canada and wanted to here from anyone who knows the canadian laws on pb guns. Can they be taken over the border? are they still leagal there? You know things like that.
Yeah, but you might want to tell the border jerk that you have paintball guns with you. Paintball guns are still legal.

If they were illegal why would there be a Canadian forum?

*sarcasm* us Canadians are a peace loving people, and the bringing of such dangerous items as... paintball guns, is a threat to our national security :)

But seriously I had read about some new laws that were trying to be passed and didn't know. Ok so they are legal but how about being transported across the BORDER. I'm going to rice lake in ontario....anywhere to play around there?

Ontario has lots of good places. If Rice Lake is anywhere near Wasaga, get yo *** up to Wasaga Beach Pball, http://www.wasagapaintball.on.ca

You will likely have to travel 30-90 minutes to find the nearest field.
1. Go to: http://www.411.ca - click on map/driving directions - do a search using the postal code - zoom until you see the map showing Kaladar in the centre, Kingston to the south. That will get your bearings (Rice Lake is not too far from Kaladar, north I think).
2. Go to: http://www.paintball.net - click on Canadian Fields, click on Ontario Fields. There are three fields listed there that are about an hour or less from Kaladar
1. CA Paintball in WestPort might be the closest
2. SMT - SmithFalls
3. PaintStorm - listed as in Ottawa, actually west of Carelton Place, east of Perth on Hwy#7 (I've only been to this one - can't really speak for the others). http://www.paintstorm.ca if you want - some good links there.
You can do a search on 411.ca on the cities listed there, then zoom out to get you bearings with your first map to get an idea of distance from Kaladar.
The fields listed on this site is not ALL the fields in Ontario by a long shot - only those that are members of the Canadian Paintball League. Have fun. Don't worry about bringing your gear across the border. Just be ready to explain what it is.

I bring my gun across the border all the time and I dont say anything. No need to declare anything because it isnt illegal. Do you declare that "Some of the shirts I am bringing across the border are red" when you cross? I think if you told em you were bringing one across it'd just give em an excuse to start hassling you, while if you didnt, they'd probably let you go right through. There are no special laws about paintball guns in canada, so long as it doesnt resemble a real gun (leave the MP5 lookalike at home)
Well don't leave the thing assembled, gassed up and paintballs in the hopper... it would look kinda bad.

The closest city to there would be Peterborough, which is where I am from.. It should only be about 20-30 mins top from where you are...
There is a place there called Outlaws and Heroes.. Kinda like a massive outdoor speedball field.. Bigger than normal and a field at the rear.. I've played a couple of times.. its setup like an old western town with 6-8 buildings you can go into or climb on the roof.. Barrels and bunkers in the center.. etc, etc...
it is kinda a amateur getup though.. I went the first time.. To chrono the guy took my marker.. shot a couple of times against a building ~50ft away, and either eyeballed the ball in flight, or judged by the smacking sound against the wood???
I'm not sure.. But I swear one guy with a mag who lit me up was running a little hot that day because I had 2 welts on the side of my knee that lasted over 2 weeks...
But a fun time nonetheless if you can take a little bit of danger with your PB...
As far as I know they are only really open on weekends so call in advance...

Otherwise there is another place called RLD games which is just north of Oshawa, I've never played, but some people have mentioned they have a decent outdoor field(s)...
Have to call them as well to see if they are open, and whether they accept walk-ons...

The Badlands paintball outdoor field is about an 1 - 1.25 hours max drive.. right off the south-eastern tip of lake simcoe, if you look up their website and check out a map...

hope this helps...
