I BELIEVE BACKYARD PAINTBALL IS WHAT GIVES OUR SPORT A BAD NAME BECAUSE MOST OF THEM DONT HAVE REFS, CHRONOS, NETTING,
AND WHO IS GOING TO BE THERE WHEN THOSE POSERS WITH THEIR TALONS DONT HAVE ENOUGH MASKS SO THEY PLAY PAPER ROCK SCISORS FOR THE MASK I THINK BRASS EAGLE SHOULD AT LEAST HAVE MASKS AND BARREL PLUGS WITH ALL THEIR GUNS, IF NOT GO OUT OF BUSINESS (HOPEFULLY BUT NOT A CHANCE)

you are stereo tping players, thats just as bad as saing paintballers arent safe like everone else says. i am sure that there are some people who dont pla safe but for the most part painballers have very good saftey standards while playing. if you play enough most people can tell if the ball is going to fast or not. i play in my local woods with m brother and brother in law and dont have an problems we wear masks at all times and have barrel plugs in and safteys on when not playing. i think you are just as ignorant as the rest of the media for stereotyping people like that.

DO YOU HAVE A CHRONO NO. AND I BELIEVE IT IS UNSAFE. I AM A REF AND I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 3 YEARS. AND I KNOW THAT ABOUT 99% OF THE LITTLE BASTERDS DONT EVEN PLAY ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY.(AND I HAVE AN ANGEL LCD SO I HAVE TO BE RIGHT)

no its not my property its my friends private property. i doessnt matter if YOU think its safe because I KNOW its safe. and why is it that you think you are better than me and anyone else just because you have an angel? i really dont like that attitude and it doesnt make you a better player just because you have a nice gun (assuming your not just lying and actually shooting a tiger shark) and i think its people like you that give nice guys with nice guns bad names.

I play backyard ball all the time. Whenever my friends and I play, we always wear masks and have barrel plugs. In fact, I always bring a first aid kit just in case someone gets hurt. Though I do not have a chrono, I can tell when I am shooting hot, and I trust the people I play with enough to know that they would never shoot hot either. I make it a point to stay very far away from the houses, so we don't need any nets.

I know you are just posting this stupid thread to get a reaction out of us good and decent pantball players. It is some sick way for you to feel acnowledged by people right? it's people like you who give paintball a bad name, so I will argue none the less....

If you really want to know why everyone plays backyard ball, it's to get away from dumb refs like you. Backyard ball is the solution to high priced fields with snotty refs who think that they are better than everyone just because they have an expensive marker.
I started off with a talon and even then, I always wore a mask whenever I played. Even if Brass Eagle packed a mask with each marker they sell, its up to the consumer to wear it. Safety is not determined by how expensive you're gun is, or how long you've been a ref. So before you begin bashing newbies and Brass Eagle, maybe you should think first.

Nice post Magnus. Tanasovich, you're an idiot. I don't even want to start on you. Typing in all caps is a sign of immaturity. Having a good gun does NOT make your smarter nor better than anyone else. Brass Eagle shouldn't be held responsible for all of this: every paintball gun and product says "always wear a mask when playing". Just because they introduce a lot people to the sport doesn't mean that they HAVE to include a mask in every single gun they sell. And like everyone has said, it's not hard to tell whether you're shooting hot or not. Why don't you leave this forum and make the place a little smarter?

you play in some one elses yard then it gets on the news or some one gets hurt it just hurts our sport that much more. then the fields go out of business then that means there is no tournaments, it is like dumping oil in the ocean.

I agree with everyone but T. Dude, shut up before the grave you are digging gets any deeper. Do I have a Chrono, Yes I Do, and not one of the little lame VL Chrono's or even the RadarChron(a nice handy piece of equip) but the big 8 pound lamp battery powered ones, thank you very much. Now I play alot of RecBall, a lot of Outlaw ball and I can vouch for me and my fellow players we ALL, repeat ALL wear masks and play away from other buildings. Anyone who watches must wear a mask and we always have atleast 1 ref. Also, having an Angel does not make you right, being me does.....(kidding) I have an Angel that would make you wet your pants but it doesn't make me anymore right than a filthy hippie (sorry to all the filthy hippies). I happen to think that Brass Eagle does a small service by making equipment that is safe, reliable (not the paint) and is afforable. Ever notice how when you ask "Hey dudes, want to go do something?" they always reply "Dude, I'm broke." It's cause paintball is EXPENSIVE (unless you are a preppy biatch) and there needs to be a paintball company that makes stuff afforable so that new players can try. Am I right people? (not you T, I don't give a damn what you think)

Right on everything, even your quote :D. You're especially right on how much paintball costs: I'm going to be washing tons of dishes this summer...

the only people that buy paintball stuff at wal-mart are the same one that shoot houses, do drive bys,(i am not saying that they all do but a good majority) and paintball is expensive and it will be that way till there are 200 people at a field shooting a case a day then they will make more stuff sell more stuff and the price will go down.
I heard when paintball first started it was 23 cents a ball
now days that would be over a doller a second.

Back yard paintball dosn't suck. What does suck is the four feilds near me that all went out of bussniess. Maybe if there where feilds for me and my freinds to play at, we wouldn't resort to playing in my backyard. We may not have a chrono yet, but no one gets hurt. We ref. our selfs, we play safe without having some of baby-sit us. You can say back yard paintball sucks all you want, but we don't have any where else to go, and no I don't want to drive 6 hours to the nearest feild. Give me an alterintive, and then I may agree that back yard paintball sucks. (my backyard is better than some feilds...and its free)

My first gun was a talon from walmart and all my friends had the same thing, none of us ever did any drivebys or anything of that sort. We always had backyard games and they were very safe, we wouldnt let anybody play without a mask.

(Dasbalddog is added to my list of heroes)

By the way..... I now have a nicely upgraded spyder 2k because i cant afford something better. but I would have never gotten into paintball if i hadnt seen that talon at walmart.

oh and one more thing, we all have masks, markers (NOT TALONS) and EASILY stay away from houses. I think you just have one bad case that your using to say that backyard paintball is bad. I don't know what getto your living in, but we all have masks, and were all safe. Just reading some of these replys make me wonder if some of you have played off a feild.

not necessarily. give the stats. prove it. yea, i saw that special on dateline nbc with those people in the car doing drive-bys on peds. common sense, most the people that buy paint, or BE guns from wal-mart would be newbs. i used to buy paint from wal-mart and i thought sheridan paintballs were the best. lol. anyways, quit getting yourself deeper in the hole. later.

All my friends and I all play backyard ball, we all have masks, we all play on property owned by one of us, none of us shoot hot guns. And 0% of us are little *******s, i'm sorry you're a ref who has a stick up his butt because people can build better fields in their back yard and play for free than the field you work at. I'm also sorry that you think everything you say is right because you spent $1000+ buying a gun. So next time please think about what you say, try to realize real stats are more effective than ones you pull outta your butt, and your pay check doesn't make you high authority on paintball.

I heard when paintball first started it was 23 cents a ball

It was 200 bucks a case but since you'd only been playing 3 years you wouldn't know this.Nelson was one of the cheaper balls out at the time and it still cost you a pretty penny.
Plus you might of only shot 15 balls a game. As far as people doing drive bys with wal mart markers and crap, well they do drive bys with real guns too. I also most every sport that has to do with something that flys gets a bad name from someone. Sand lot baseball for one kids breaking dam windows etc.
As far as people with low line markers well thats all they can afford to have.So don't bash people cause they can't aford a 1500 marker.
We play on BLM land and Gov't land all the time and funny thing is they let us go back and play all the time. The ones that are agaist Outlaw ball id field owners cause they are not getting the people playing at there field,So thats lost money.

I play in my backyard with a chrono and all players must wear masks at all times. We make sure safety comes first. Sure, it's not as fun as playing at the field, but at least I don't have to pay a buttload of money for paintballs either, so it sort of evens itself out. :)

Well, how can that be true when 99% of all backyard ballers play on property by request, or on thier own? Honestly, how old are you? You had to be told no to type in caps, you make fun of a good deal of people on this bored, and your not listening to the pbreview philosiphers (Dasbalddog, mangus, creek). You're a ref? I highly doubt that. An angel? Well, lets just say I have my doubts

I know how to fix this, I'm going to make a poll. Be sure to look for it. Back yard paintball does not suck. Like said before, the only people who dont like it are feild owner's. Well If I don't want to pay a $15 dollar feild fee, I can just play in my back yard, which is a whole lot better than the feild near me (which just went out of bussniess).

i play back yard games but not in my back yard
there's large fields that nobody uses or around i know few and we have lot of safe games with them... we all have masks on when on field and have first aid kits also but just cuz there's no refs dont mean it's not safe or wreckless

Ouch man, you were told, woooh, how's it feel tanasovich?

Like many other people who have posted where I play is on my friends 15 acres away from everything with a chrono, and a designated ref, and masks, and everything else you need to be safe - well I think everyone has dropped your lil 99% theory, dang it

I Support Back Yard Ball!

As long as it's done safely, back yard ball is the best! I have a speedball field setup. It's surrounded by netting, we chrono under 280 and everyone uses masks and barrel plugs. Where else can you play all day for about $30 total?

We don't need refs because we play honest.

I even set up an entire category on my webstore to help other backyard ballers. Chronos, arm bands, signs, fill stations, scales, etc.

I ref, and have played for five years and I play in the backyard, but I play on the field more then the backyard.(I have a custom 98 which means I am always right)j/k.. Being good friends with the field owners I can attest to barely being able to keep it open, but I think some backyard players will eventually show up to the field when they have some money or the feel comfortable with there skill levels, but most importantly and above all else backyard paintball is a good change of scenery when you get bored with playing on the same field all the time with snotty rich little punks who have no skills but a good gun.
