Awhile back I got a Mephisto v2.2 that was decently upgraded and had a MacDev Sonic LPR upgrade on it. One day while prepping my guns for a game later that evening, I gassed up the Mephisto and everything seemed fine at first. Then about 5 seconds later, the LPR flew out of the front of my gun! It was like a shot gun going off next to my ear. Luckily no one was hurt and I have a teammate who repairs windows for a living (I was house sitting too:| ).

I managed a simple fix but deemed the marker unsafe for my own use... sold it on eBay.

Now I am considering returning to the Tribal world. Should I get a Tribal with the Sonic LPR? Do the Tribals really need it to perform well? What are my other alternatives (ASP LP Reg Kit, Fear Factory Mod?)? What are your thoughts? Has this happend before?

I know for a fact that the Fear Factory mod doesn't fly out. I don't know about ASP's, but i've heard of a few cases wehre the sonic LPR adapter has flown out, while no stories about the ASP or Fear Factory flying out.

The asp or ff will NEVER fly out. I know my ASP it takes a good 10 turns to screw it in the gun and even when all the threads are out its a biznatch to pull it out because the o-rings keep it tight in there.

How hard is it to install? I need an LPR badly for my fluster(I chop balls, and paint is everywhere) and i don't wanna mess with the AOC because it's the worst designed thing ever.

The ASP lpr replaces the entire AOC assembly. $35 in black (just got one yesterday). Those won't shoot out either.
