View Full Version : Impulse Consitancy with CO2...plus....is there a lighter frame for gun

Well my first question is wether or not I can increase the consistancy with CO2 on my Impulse. I have a ANS nitrogen low pressure regulator and eclipse vertical adapter, blade trigger, vertical mounted max, and a Freak Bolt. Is there any possible way I can tinker with it with out F***ing it up and get better consistancy from CO2 (i do not want to get nitrogen cause of it's price for low out put guns)...mainly cause I a broke. :pissed:

And is there any way I can make my gun lighter....maybe a aluminum frame (if they make one) and I have a titanium hammer and that knocked off a pound or two....but I wanted a light heavy attack weapon able to catch up with any high grade light wieght marker.

I am rather trigger happy and the consistancy of my gun would be a blessing if I could maintian a constanct flo of air.....then what about O2?

Ok I'm trying to decipher your post and I have a few questions.

1. ANS Nitrogen LPR, I assume that you have an LPR setup.
Have you made sure its tuned right I have heard that the LPR setup if its not tuned right will have negative affects on consistancy.

2. Do you have an anti-shipon in your Co2 tank?

Main way to get good Co2 consistincy is to make sure your gun is through the breaking in stage(I.E. put several cases through it). And then adjust your LPR, Dwell and pressure settings until you find the guns sweet spot.

As for N2 tanks you dont have to spend alot to get one that will work on the impulse, PMI and crossfire preset tanks work well.

Hate to break it to you but the impulse is made almost entirely out of aluminum(frame and body and internals).

Only way you could really make it lighter might be an I-Frame because of its smaller size. Impulses really are only like 4lbs so its not like they weight a ton.

As for maintain a costant flow of air??? Are you experincing shootdown or something??

You should be able to pull long strings of paint with no problem on CO2 unless its incredibly cold out.

I think the Ti hammer is only a few hundred grams lighter.... pounds it is not.

Not to mention that your "light setup" could be the cause of your consistency problems. But before we get there we have to figure out your post.

What kind of consistency are you having now?

How many rounds have you put through the gun?

Assuming your using the maxflow as your inline and using LPR and that the gun is broken in then here are my suggestions.

First, anti-siphon is a must!

Second, clean out the entire gun- Valve & maxflow.

Why are you not just using HPA.... you can get a used tank for around 150 or a new 68/30 for 100 or so.

As for a lighter gun... eh get a AL barrel, no drop, use a preset HPA not adj, and a 12V revy not a force fed loader.

But running a 8lb setup is light enough for me.... but weight is weigh.

Back to your consistency problems-

After you have done the my first 2-3 suggestions try this.

Its possible that your internals have become too light. You need to add some weight back to your hammer assembly. First, try your stock bolt. It works best with a light hammer.
If there is no change, then put your delirn back in, and put the stock hammer back in.

If thats not working try a SS or Brass hammer.

well this is not my gun this a friends gun, notice my setup below:

yes he does have an A/S. yes it is properly tuned. i think wat he ment was wat else could he do to improve consistancy, besides n2.

also i dont think he ment a pound or 2 (exgerating)

and as far as O2 im not sure wat he ment.

so wat can he do to improve consistancy?
make it lighter?
and wat n2 tank could he use?

to improve consistancy he should clean the entire thing as well as he can.

after that you want to get you internals balanced, light is NOT best, you want to have a heavy hammer (brass/SS) and then light everything else (delrin bolt, ti pull pin, slick shot ram or equivalents) OR you want a light hammer and then heavy everything else

your internals need to be BALANCED, not as light as possible
